“Last week we were close a lot of opportunities against a very good football team. We felt like we let the game slip away. Today we wanted to come out and make a statement.” BEA Head coach Jesse Nagle had to wait a while for those opportunities, but eventually they appeared as the Eagles pulled away with a 50-7 win over a severely undermanned North Penn-Mansfield team. With 9:23 remaining in the second quarter, it looked as though the Panthers were make a run at the Eagles, only trailing 14-0. Then disaster struck. Several times.
First, facing fourth down the Panthers punt attempt sailed over the head of the punter. He scooped it and gave it a go but the kick never got past the 5 and Max Yetsko returned the ball to the one. Garrett Burns went over the line on the next play and from here on out it was all Bald Eagle. “We had 26 kids, 8 not here, but truly the first half it was 7-0” said NP Mansfield head coach Tommy Dickinson. “They just wore us down, take away special teams but it could have been a different game. They’re still a better team than us.”
On the next play Burns forced a fumble that was recovered at the 36 but the Eagles were still working out the kinks and couldn’t move the ball, however, the punt pinned the Panthers at their one yard line. Seconds later BEA got the safety, the Eagles scored on a Burns 9 yard run and Owen Irvin returned a punt 47 yards. All this scoring happened in a span of three minutes late in the first half, giving the home team a comfortable 36-0 lead at the break.

Bea opened the second half with an 80 kick return by Irvin to up their lead to 43-0. With the clock running, BEA added one more score, a 37 yard td run from Burns. North Penn got on the board with a 55 yard punt return from running back Kohen Lehman.
