Bulldogs Land Six On PA Writers Class 4A All-State Team

The Jersey Shore Bulldogs came within inches of making a potential deep run in the Class 4A playoffs after a 12-1 season came to an end in snowy Williamsport to Allentown Central Catholic. Six of their players, and Carter Young of Selinsgrove, were selected to the PA Football Writers All-State team.

Brady Jordan (QB), Luke Springman (OL), Zach Rooney (DL), Hadyn Packer (LB), Breck Miller (Specialist), and Kooper Peacock (Athlete) were named to the team.

The Seals’ Young was also named as a Specialist. He averaged 34.9 yards per punt, accumulating 1,638 total yards on 47 attempts with a long punt of 52 yards. He was also 34-of-36 on extra points (0.944) and 9-for-11 (0.818) on field goals, with a long of 40 yards.

Jordan threw for 15 TDs and 1,233 yards, completing 73-of-137 yards. He also rushed 114 times for 1,011 yards and 21 touchdowns.

Springman helped anchor an offensive line that accounted for over 4,100 yards on the ground.

Rooney was 3rd on the Bulldogs in tackles with 66. He also made 3 sacks, forced a fumble and recovered two fumbles.

Packer, the Williamsport Sun-Gazette Player of the Year, made 94 tackles, 2 interceptions, a sack, and 2 forced fumbles and 3 recovered fumbles.

Miller averaged 32.6 yards per punt with a long of 50 yards. He was also 93-for-99 (0.939) in extra points, and 4-for-10 in field goals, with a long of 37.

Peacock was the Bulldogs’ “Swiss Army Knife,” accounting for 1,725 all-purpose yards (459 receiving, 1,140 returns, 116 interception returns, 10 rushing) and 9 TDs.
