Jersey Shore running back Karter Peacock carries the ball in Saturday night’s 55-0 victory over Bellefonte. Saturday, August 28, 2021.

The Jersey Shore Bulldogs and Bellefonte Raiders squared off Saturday night in a game that the Bulldogs dominated on all three aspects of the game. On offense, there was an explosion from new starting quarterback Brady Jordan as well as the return of Senior All-State receiver Cayden Hess. Jordan finished Saturday’s contest with over 200 all-purpose yards that accounted for three touchdowns. And for Hess, he only caught a few passes but he made the play of the night on an incredible catch along the sideline and he was able to keep his feet in bounds and scamper for the 74-yard touchdown.

For the Raiders it was a struggle to get anything going on offense and the Bulldogs offense was just too much to handle. On the night coach, Gravish, and the offense were able to put up over 500 all-purpose yards. Not only was the Bulldog offense on fire tonight but so was the defense. In the game, there were 3 sacks in which one was a strip-sack, one interception, and two total fumble recoveries.

Right from the get-go, the Bulldogs put pressure on the Raiders. In just a few plays from 38 yards out, Bulldog running back Hadyn Packer rushed his way into the endzone. The point-after attempt was good making the score 7-0 less than two minutes into the game. And this was just the beginning for the Bulldogs.

Later in the first quarter, Packer would find his way to the endzone again this time bulldozing his way from seven yards out. The point-after attempt was good, giving the Bulldogs a 14-0 lead with a little over three minutes left in the first quarter.

The very next Bulldog possession Jordan stepped back to pass and Cayden Hess only needed one hand and a little bit of balance to scamper 74 yards to the house. The very next play the Bulldogs recovered an onside kick with the help of a Bellefonte fumble. On the ensuing drive, the Bulldogs once again found the endzone. This time Gabe Andrus dove his way in from five yards out. This gave Jersey Shore a commanding 35-0 lead with 9:20 to go in the half.

The Bulldogs would manage to find the endzone two more times before halftime. Kooper Peacock would find his way in from five yards out with a little less than six minutes to go in the half. And Jordan would rush in from 14 yards out to close the half and give the Bulldogs a huge 58-0 lead.

In the second half, the Bulldogs would find the endzone once more. Running back Dathan Tyson rushed his way in from 44 yards out to give the Bulldogs a 55-0 lead which would be the final score of Saturday night’s game.

The Jersey Shore Bulldogs advance to 1-0 on the year and will travel to Selinsgrove next Friday night. For the Bellefonte Raiders, it was a tough game against the former state runner-up. However, they will look to bounce back as they play the 0-1 Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers next Friday.
