My last game this weekend took me to Troy, Pennsylvania approximately 435 miles from my house. Though I actually left from Panama Central High School in Panama, New York, which turned out to make the drive somewhere in the neighborhood of a mere 200 miles. This was my first trip to Troy and overall I have to say it was very enjoyable. The game ended with the losing team being shut out which turned out to be the case in all four games I watched this week. Troy would win this 21-0 over Wellsboro in a game that defense was the main theme, with enough offense thrown in to keep things somewhat exciting.

Troy Would use a 12 play 79-yard drive to take 5:06 seconds off to take a 7-0 lead on a short touchdown run from Clayton Smith and the point after kick by Justice Chimics. Troy would also have the other noteworthy play in the quarter and that was a 22-yard run from Chimics.

With 4:35 left in the half Joseph Frye held the ball and Chimics would make good on a 29-yard field goal making this a 10-0 game. On the ensuing kickoff, Billy Rosanelli would recover the onside kick to put the Trojan offense right back on the field. Ryder Bowen would make a nice play for the Hornets when he dropped Clayton Smith for a 7-yard loss. The Trojan offense would have the last laugh of the half when Chimics broke away for a sweet-looking 53-yard touchdown run making this a 16-0 game.

In the third quarter, the Hornets show a sign of life on the offensive side of things when Darryn Callahan broke off a 35-yard run. The drive would close out soon after thanks to another strong showing from the Trojan defense.

6-3, 310 pound Mason Imbt was a Manster in this one as he swatted away would-be blockers to force ball carriers to move away from him and easily be tackled before doing any damage. With a little over 5:00 minutes left he would drop Joe Brown for a 2-yard loss. Brown is a talented running back who never had a chance on this play. There would be two more significant plays in the quarter. First, Brown would get to hard-running Damian Landon for a loss of 5-yards. The other play was an interception by Trojan Jayden Renzo.

The score went to 18-0 when Brown had the ball snapped over his head and roll out of the end zone when he was dropped back in punt formation, with 9:38 left in the game. Brown would take some frustration out on Smith when he dropped the talented runner for a 3-yard loss.

Things would go from bad to worse for the Hornets when they fumbled the ball on their own 5-yard line and making the recovery for the Trojan was Damian Landon. On the ensuing drive, Ryan Sweet would get Smith for a 7-yard loss. The drive ended with Chimics connecting on a 26-yard field goal to give us our final score 21-0.

The Toy defense would make the last big play of the game when Nick York put Isaac Keane down for a loss of four yards.
