Last week, Chestnut Ridges leading offensive weapon, Jeb Emerick, committed to Juniata College to further his athletic and academic career.

In his career, Emerick rushed for 1,318 yards on 206 carries and scored 16 touchdowns. He also caught 31 passes for 506 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Emerick had 245 total tackles with 14 tackles for loss and eight sacks.

Jeb was outstanding for the Lions and Head Coach Max Shoemaker had very high praise for him.

Shoemaker stated, “Jeb is a very powerful young man with nice athleticism and deceptive speed. He is a self-motivated student athlete and is driven to be exceptional. I would anticipate him having a nice career at Juniata.”

Juniata College is a very prestigious school for academics and a solid program for athletics. Last season, the Juniata Eagle football team finished with a record of 1-9 with their lone win coming against Hartwick College. Juniata is rebuilding their football program and getting Emerick was a huge pickup. They were able to get the commitment by making Jeb feel right at home.

“Out of the many college I visited, Juniata was the place where I felt the most at home,” said Emerick. “The coaches and players at Juniata were also the most real and down to Earth people out of the colleges I visited.”

Not every athlete is given an opportunity to take their talents to the collegiate level. Jeb was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of playing at the next level with Juniata.

Emerick said, “It feels great. I always dreamed of playing college football and I was able to make my dream come true by dedicating myself to getting better. I also had lots of people helping me along the way.”

Jeb Emerick had an outstanding career and was rewarded with multiple offers to play at the next level. Keep an eye out for the athletic back out of Chestnut Ridge at Juniata College this fall.
