This was definitely one of the more interesting games I have ever covered.
Both teams came into the game looking to improve on good starts to the season. They would battle for the entire 48 minutes before the game would be decided.
The first quarter started with both teams exchanging punts. The Indians won the exchanged and started their second drive from the Comets 37. Two plays later Cam Dunn made a nice cut back and raced 36 yards for a touchdown. It was called back on a motion penalty. The Indians were able to move into the red zone but faked a field goal and coming up short.

The Comets starting their second straight drive from inside their own 15. They went three and out for the second time. They punted and the Indians would start this drive from the Comets 40. A 33 yard pass from Greyson Studer to Dunn put the Indians at the PM six.
The Indians started the second quarter scoring two more touchdowns both called back on holding calls. They finally scored when Brennan Lohr caught an 8 yard pass from Studer. It was their fourth touchdown but the first to go up on the scoreboard.

The Comets would get a good kick return from Troy Williams and start their drive from the Indians 42. They would move right down the field mixing the run and the pass. Justin Vojtek bulled into the end zone but PM failed on the two point conversion and still trailed by one.

The Comets defense which had four sacks in the quarter would hold CT and force them to punt. PM quarterback Amin Lieb was picked off three plays later by Sam Shaffer who returned it deep inside PM territory. The Indians would drive to the PM 3. But on fourth and inches a motion penalty on the Indians forced them to attempt a 25 yard field goal. The kick was wide left. The teams went to the half 7-6.

The third quarter started with the Comets offense firing on all cylinders. They drove deep into Indians territory before being pushed back. On third and 23 Lieb was picked off by Dunn. Dunn returned it deep into PM territory but a holding call brought the ball back. The Indians punted and pinned PM back inside their own 20. The Comets drove to the ball to midfield before Lieb was picked off for a third time. Sam Shaffer recorded his second interception of the game and took it all the way back for a touchdown. Vojtek blocked the extra point.

Penns Manor was forced to go to the air. Lieb drove the Comets down the field with short passes and some quarterback runs. There was just under three minutes to go in the game, when he hit Troy Williams to cut the lead to two points.

Comets Connor James would recover his own onside kick. The Comets were 45 yards away from the end zone. Two and a half minutes later Lieb hit Williams again and the Comets had their first lead. The clock showed 28.4 seconds. But the Indians didn’t give up Studer hit Dunn for a 50 yard gain. CT made two throws into the end zone and came up empty. The Comets prevailed 22-16!
