Coach Nagle says “Eric is an extremely hard worker on and off the field. He is our leader up front on both sides of the ball”

LETS GET TO KNOW ERIC

Why do you play football?

Football teaches life skills. It has given me the opportunity to challenge myself, to work with others, and to lead. It is the game that I love, and there is nothing like running out on the field with your brothers every Friday night.

It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?

Kickoff, let’s get this thing rolling!

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Pat Tillman – He left a multi-million dollar contract with the Arizona Cardinals to serve in the military, and ultimately gave his life for his country despite having no obligation or need to do so.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

When I was in 9th grade I got to carry the ball for one play in the last drive of our last junior high game. I ran straight up the middle and ended up getting 9 yards on the play.

What was last years season like for you?

It was a chance for me to show all of the work I put in during the off-season, but it also uncovered my weaknesses and the places I still needed to improve.

What are your goals for this coming season?

I want to take it one game at a time, hit every play with everything I have, and regardless of the outcome, strive to improve each week.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

I lined up against Oliver Billotte in my sophomore year.

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I’d love to watch the Eagles play the Cowboys at Lincoln Financial field.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Philadelphia Eagles

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

The Army-Navy game last year – I loved the intensity and camaraderie on both sides of the ball the entire game.

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

The Replacements – I think that the movie reminds me to stay humble and realize that playing football is a privilege, not a right. It really highlights the importance of enjoying every moment, and playing as a team rather than an individual.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

“Let’s go buddy, show ‘em what you got!”

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Tip the quarterback’s pass, catch it, and return it for a touchdown.

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

My father – He’s always made time for me and my brothers, he is very supportive of everything I do, and I know he always has my best interest in mind. Someday I hope to be as good of a father to my children as he has been to me and my brothers.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

Boxing or jiu-jitsu

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

Both sets of my grandparents – They never miss a game and they’re always very supportive.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

Hunting – It allows me to spend time with my family and relax.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

My favorite football memory was in 7th grade, playing my first ever snap of football. I tackled the running back when he tried to cut outside. I was so excited, and that was when football really clicked for me.

What is your favorite play to run?

Any play where I get to pull and crack somebody

What scares you the most?

I fear growing old and realizing that I never reached my potential because I didn’t take every opportunity I had in life.

Music of choice:

Bluegrass Country

What was your favorite gift as a little boy? Why?

What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?

Olive Garden

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Bethany Beach, DE

Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?

I watched a Penn State game with my grandfather when I was in 2nd grade.
