Coach Says: Nathan is a returning starter on both sides of the ball. He played Tackle and DE last year. After playing TE/WR his entire career, he unselfishly moved to Tackle in order to help the team and did so while playing at a high level. He was one of our anchors on defense last year at DE. He is a talented basketball player as well. Nathan is coach-able and the leader of our team.
Why do you play football?
I play football because of being able to play not only for myself but for my friend best to me and fighting together as a team, and the family that is created off the field because of what you do on it.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
My favorite player was Ryan Shazier because I am a Steelers fan and he was such a great player on the field and an even better person off of the field
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
Every play I make behind the line is my favorite play, being able to set back the opposing offense is my favorite feeling.
What was your toughest game in 2025 season?
Against bishop McCourt. It was a very high scoring game and they were undefeated and the top dogs and we were winning at one point in the third quarter and it was a fight until the final seconds. Everyone was tired but we kept fighting as a team even through the multiple players we had that were injured from just that game, but we came up short. Also against Penn cambria the first time when we were down 12-0 and our fans began to leave but we put together strong drives and stops on defense and came back to win it in the fourth quarter.
What are your goals for this coming season?
My goals are to make offenses adjust to me at defensive end and make it more difficult for them. Also on offense to show what I can do with the ball.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Caleb Rodriguez who is from McCourt and committed to Pitt for wrestling was their starting lineman and blocked with intensity and used his size.
When the game is on the line, which college/professional coach would you like to call in the play?
Bill Belichick, because he is one of the best coaches of all time.
What does the word “Coach” mean to you?
Coach is more than someone who tells me how to play football but like another parent, who I can trust to make me the best version of myself on and off the field.
What if your favorite season of the year?
Fall, there’s nothing like the leaves falling and football weather starting.
Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community
Football is something everyone in the community can come together to support, while not everyone agrees on a lot of things they can bond over their football team.
Name a football player you’d love to line up against
I would love to live up against a veteran offensive tackle like Andrew whitworth who could help me from my opponent’s standpoint on how to be better
Name a football player you’d love to line up with.
I love lining up to the people I’m best friends with.
What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?
My favorite practice drill is our pass skeleton where we run individual routes for plays or running 1v1’s
What school sport that you do not play in have you supported?
I support our baseball team as all of my friends play on it.
If you were to inherit 1 billion dollars what’s the first thing you’d do?
I would help my parents retire as they have gave up so much for me to be who I am today.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and WHY?
I love just hanging out with friends and family and having good conversations.
What is your least favorite play to run?
I don’t have a specific play that I don’t like.
First thing you do when you leave the locker room or get off the bus after a game?
The first thing I do is reflect on the game myself and think of what I did good and bad
Music of choice:
Rap or metal/rock and occasionally country
Best place in your town to eat after a game? Why?
Any bar food, my favorite food from a restaurant is wings.
Best Pizza topping?
I love mushrooms on pizza but only with pepperoni too
If you could attend any sports event for free what would it be?
The Super Bowl because of how rare it is to be able to attend that game and the tension in the game
