Carson Nagle was 19-of-28 on the night for 335 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions leading BEA to a 33-14 win over Philipsburg-Osceola. Beau Taylor finished the game with 113 yards on four catches and Gradyn Fisher caught six passes for 130 yards.
The first quarter was a back and forth battle. Both teams had drives that stalled out but it was the Mountie defense that shined picking off Nagle twice. In the second quarter Sam McDonald set up the first score of the game with an interception that gave P-O the ball deep in BEA territory. A botched field goal attempt turned into a first down for the Mounties. Archer Baughman punched it in to give the Mounties an early lead.
BEA responded with a 60-yard touchdown pass from Nagle to Fisher but they missed on the pat. BEA scored again on a pass from Nagle to Beau Taylor making it 12-7 at the break. In the second half the Eagles took flight. Nagle hit Taylor with a 50 yard td pass, they extended the lead when Nagle hit Kollin Cunningham for a 15 yard td pass then they slammed the door shut with a td run by Kollin Cunningham giving BEA a 33-7 lead late in the game.
“I thought our kids responded well after a little adversity in the first quarter. P-O has a team that’s up and coming. They played us well. We were able to pull away in the second half” said BEA Head Coach Jesse Nagle.
BEA moves to 3-2 overall. The Eagles host Bellefonte next week in a huge rivalry game.
Philipsburg-Osceola fell to 2-3 overall. The Mounties travel to Bellwood-Antis next Friday.
