BEA settled for 23-yard Field Goal by Kaden Burns to put them up 3-0 with 5:21 left in the 1st quarter.

The Marauders couldn’t get anything going on their first drive. Nicholas Wible had a big pass deflection on 3 down to force BG to punt the ball after only keeping it for a minute. Dubbs got 13 of those yards back on the next play. After BG called a timeout, Nagle found Watkins for 16 yards and a first down. Dubbs picked up another 1st down on the next play with an 11-yard run. It took them 2:11 seconds on 6 plays to get into the endzone. Dubbs capped off the drive with his 3rd rushing Touchdown of the game. Burns extra point made it 24-0 in the Eagles favor. The next 2 drives ended in punts for both teams. The Marauders thought they found paydirt when Kissell found Reilly for what seemed to be a touchdown, only to be called back for offensive pass interference. However, Kissell did find Gates for a 30 yard pick up on 3rd and 20 for a first down. BEA made a few adjustments on a timeout, getting back-to-back sacks by Dubbs and Lefebvre respectably making it 3rd and goal from the 36-yard line. BG turned it over on down after Kissell’s pass on 4th down fell to the turf. The Bald Eagles got the ball back with 7 seconds in the quarter. Dubbs finished the quarter with a 19-yard rush to midfield.

The first play of the 4th had Nagle finding Watkins for 14 yards and a first down. 2 plays later Nagle shuffled another pass to Watkins where he scampered for 24 more yards. The onside kick attempt failed, leaving the ball at midfield. On the very next play, Eagle QB Kaleb Irion fumbled the handoff giving the ball back to BG. BG last effort onside kick was unsuccessful as Sophomore Grady Fisher recovered the ball. The Eagles then gave the ball to Nick McCully 3 times for 41 yards to finish the game. Final score 36-14, ending the Marauders run of 4 consecutive District 6 titles (3 in 1A and 1 2A). “We played all aspects of the game tonight”, said Bald Eagle Area’s Head Coach Jesse Nagle. “I thought we absolutely did what we felt what we were going to do tonight”.   Top performers: BEA- C.
