The Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders defeated Juniata Valley by a score of 24-21, after an incredible 4th quarter comeback. The win improves their record to 9-4 on the season, and they’ll move on the the state semifinals next week.

The Marauders had more of a rough start, being down 14-3 at the beginning of the game. However, Guilfoyle’s star offensive players kept them in it, and RB Cooper Rother and QB Karson Kiesewetter breaking through the Hornet defensive line.

Despite the effort on offense, the  Marauders were down 21-10 to start the 4th Quarter. BG answered back to JV’s touchdown with a touchdown of their own, a run from QB Karson Kiesewetter. Guilfoyle proved themselves on defense, and made multiple stops towards the end of the matchup. On the scoring final drive WR Patrick Reilly made a diving catch on 4th and 9, setting up RB Cooper Rother’s go-ahead touchdown.

Valley had one last chance to win the game, however DB Vincent Cioffari denied them of that, getting the game sealing interception. BG will live another day, and move on to the next round of the state playoffs.
