Hollidaysburg welcomed Taylor Allderdice in the semi final round of the sub regional tournament involving District 6, District 8 and District 9 on a cold autumn night. Hollidaysburg’s offense started off hot and did not cool off while Allderdice had some explosive kick returns and a couple momentum fueled drives, their offense sputtered and was unable to make anything of the drives. Hollidaysburg would go on to win this game by 33 points and will host the District 6-8-9 Championship Game.

Allderdice opted to kick to Hollidaysburg to start the game, and they had no issue starting the game off right as a couple rushes by Mitchell Baronner led them down the field, aided by some penalties committed by the Allderdice defense. With 10:22 left in the first quarter Mitchell Baronner found the endzone for his first rushing touchdown of the night. After a successful point after attempt the Hollidaysburg Tigers led 7-0. Allderdice started their drive at their own nineteen yard line and found no success, punting the ball away, leading to Hollidaysburg taking over at their own 48 yard line. With 5:32 left on the clock in the first quarter, Mitchell Baronner would rush from the one yard line for his second rushing touchdown of the night, after a second successful point after attempt Hollidaysburg found itself with a 14-0 lead. Taylor Allderdice would continue to scuffle, and punted on fourth down. The punt was returned to the Allderdice 47. Hollidaysburg’s Christian White rushed 44 yards in total, capping the drive off with yet another touchdown for the Golden Tigers, the point after was unsuccessful, Hollidaysburg extened its lead to 20-0. Allderdice’s offense started at their own 18 yard line, after another drive where they failed to get a first down, they attempted a fake punt that Hollidaysburg successfully stopped and took over at the Allderdice 18 yard line. Maddox Bainey found Brady Steiner in the endzone on an 18 yard pass, after a successful point after the lead for the Golden Tigers grew to 27-0. Allderdice was able to get a positive play as they returned the kickoff to their own 36 yard line but Joey Richardson of Hollidaysburg shut the drive down with a sack that pushed them back 15 yards. The first quarter would draw to an end the Hollidaysburg leading 27-0.

Hollidaysburg started the second quarter taking over at the Taylor Allderdice 22 yard line, with 9:07 in the quarter remaining the Golden Tigers found the endzone once again, and a successful extra point put them up 34-0. Allderdice did their best to respond, with 8:46 remaining in the second quarter they were able to get their first first down of the game. After a gaining 6 yards on the first two plays of the drive Trecyn Ford completed an eleven yard pass to Lukas Stead, followed by a 14 yard pass to Brandon Reynolds to set Allderdice up with their best field position so far in the game. The Dragons momentum would run out and the drive would stall at the Hollidaysburg 35 yard line. With 3:38 remaining in the second quarter Mitchell Baronner would rush for 57 yards to record his third touchdown of the night, giving the Golden Tigers a 41-0 lead. Taylor Allderdice would start to find some momentum again after a 27 yard completion would take them to the Hollidaysburg 44 yard line, but a fumble would kill their drive once again as Hollidaysburg recovered the fumble. Hollidaysburg led 41-0 going into half time.

The second half of the game would move much faster as the teams decided to play eight minute quarters. Allderdice received the second half kickoff and starter at their own eight yard line. The Dragons would run the clock down and end their drive by throwing an interception. Hollidaysburg was unable to do anything with the ball in the third quarter and the game would progress into quarter four with Hollidaysburg still leading 41-0.

The fourth quarter would be unexciting for Hollidaysburg but Taylor Allderdice was able to finally get onto the scoreboard. With 5:40 left in the game and their backs pressed against their own endzone, Allderdice would throw a screen pass that would be taken 96 yards by the Dragons Tai’vaun Turner for their first an only touchdown of the game. Allderdice would successfully convert on a two point conversion to cut the lead to 41-8.

Hollidaysburg will go on to face DuBois in the Championship while Allderdice will look to learn from tonight’s loss and regroup to improve next season.
