More experienced Dragons maul younger Wildcats!

Purchase Line Red Dragons (7-2) at Homer-Center Wildcats (2-7)

Last Meeting: 10/21/22 Wildcats 12 @ Red Dragons 14

All -Time Series Wildcats 49 wins Red Dragons 14 wins

Homer- Center won the first 23 games

Purchase Line hadn’t won in Homer City since 2011 the only year the Wildcats went winless.

The Red Dragons got the ball first and moved right down the field. Jaylin Robertson made a great fourth down catch and run to set up the game’s first touchdown. He scored on the next play to make it 7-0 Red Dragons. The Wildcats than moved into PL territory before being stopped on fourth down. On the next play Brock Small raced  54 yards for his first of three touchdowns. The Wildcats moved the ball on their second possession as well driving into PL territory before being forced to punt. The punt was downed inside the Red Dragon ten yard line. The HC defense came up big and forced a punt. The Wildcats were able to take advantage of the short field when Landon Hill bounced outside and raced into the end zone to make it 14 to 7. The Red Dragons would than go on another long drive which was capped by another Robertson touchdown. Braden Dunn who has been forced into service as the Wildcat quarterback was shaken up and freshmen Brady Frazier was put in the game. Frazier drove the Wildcats right down the field and hit a streaking Wil Jones for a 32 yard touchdown pass on third and 13 with only 1:06 to go in the half. It appeared the Wildcats would take some momentum into the half but the Dragons would drive right down the field and were in good position to score. But here comes Brady Frazier again intercepting a John Elick pass in the red zone to stop the drive. The Red Dragons went into the locker room up 21-14.

The Wildcats got the ball first and the game turned on a great play by Brock Small who came off his receiver and picked off Braden Dunn who had returned as the HC quarterback. Small ran the ball back to the Wildcat six. John Elick would score two plays later to extend the lead to fourteen again. The Red Dragon line than took over the game. The veteran line started to dominate a Wildcat line which came into the season without one returning starter. The next quarter  and a half saw Small score twice more and PL extend their lead to 42-14. The backups would finish the game with Wildcat Shawn Valuchuck looking good at quarterback and scoring the games last touchdown. Both teams have been devastated by injuries this year. However the more experience Dragons were able to dominate the second half.
