Stingers fall to Cambria Heights
MARION CENTER- The Stingers fall to 2-4, after a loss to Cambria Heights 36-18. This is their fourth loss in a row.
The Highlanders started the scoring game off on a keep by junior quarterback Ty Stockley with 4:30, in the first quarter; the extra point was good 7-0
On the Highlanders next drive, senior defensive back Dixon Harkins had an interception and returned it to the inside the five. The Stingers would then score on a fourth down pass to senior wide receiver TJ Lynn. Then he pitched it to senior running back Brady Tonkin and took it in for six; the extra point was no good, 7-6.
Cambria Heights would score again on their next drive on a pitch to senior half back Tyler Della Valle, and they would go for the extra point but it was fumbled and picked up; they ended up getting two points off of it.
The Highlanders would score one more time in the half on another quarterback-keeper by Stockley making the score going into the half 22-6.
The Stingers would come out scoring after two deep passes to Lynn and one resulted in a touchdown 22-12.
Cambria Heights had an interception setting up their next touchdown scored on a keeper again by Stockley.
On Marion Center’s next drive, they would turn the ball over again on a pass that was backwards resulting in a fumble the Highlanders would take advantage of this, and they would score on a keeper by Stockley this would be their last points of the day, 36-12
The Stingers would also score one last time on a pass to Lynn, and the final score would be 18-36.
Marion Center will travel to Northern Cambria next week to take on the 1-5 Colts who they beat twice last year: once being in the regular season, 28-7, and the other being in the playoffs when the Stingers won 13-0.
