Stingers Have Record Breaking Night Against United

MARION CENTER- The Stingers won their second game in a row against United 56-0, in a record breaking night. Marion Center had two records broken that night with senior quarterback Ty Ryen breaking the most touchdowns in a single season with 14, and junior kicker Braden Reichenbach had the most extra points in a single game with 8, after tying the record twice.

Marion Center’s offense would dominate the night with Ty Ryen leading the way; he had a rushing touchdown on the first drive of the game to go along with his four passing touchdowns which helped him break the record of 13 in a season.

It was also a big night for some other Stingers.  Senior tight end Zach Lutz had two touchdowns on the night along with senior wide receiver TJ Lynn who had a 40-yard reception for a touchdown and a 45-yard run for another touchdown.

A drive after Lutz’s second touchdown, United had the ball, and senior defensive back Dixon Harkins picked them off giving the ball back to the Stingers who would score on a pass to sophomore Alex Stewart making it 35-0, on Stewart’s first of three touchdowns.

On Marion Center’s first drive of the second half, they would score on the Lynn run, and then add some more points on the board after Stewart ran it in for his second touchdown of the night, 49-0.

The last points of the game were also scored by Stewart, making it 55-0, and giving the chance to Reichenbach who was already tied with the record 7-7, with the chance to make it, and he did, resulting in the final score 56-0.

This was a big win for the Stingers getting them back to .500 they look for another win next week against the West  Shamokin Wolves who are also 4-4, for the season.
