MARION CENTER- The Stingers faced off with Penns Manor for the first time in two years. Marion Center was seeking revenge for having to be co-heritage conference champions due to the Comets having the same overall record of 6-1, and the Stingers executed a 41-7 victory over the Comets.

Marion Center started the scoring game with senior quarterback Ty Ryen passing a 45-yard touchdown to senior running back Brady Tonkin; this was the start to a dominant night by the Stingers. The Penns Manor offense struggled against the stingers defense and had many penalties against them.

The Stingers offense was effective: Ryen was 10-16, for 223 yards, and two touchdowns. Senior fullback Xavier Vaglia rushed for 44-yards and had the second touchdown for the Stingers. Running behind a great offensive line making it 13-0, junior kicker Braden Reichenbach, who made 5 of 6 extra points, booted this one through making it 14-0.

After Penns Manor took over on a fumble, the Comets were looking to score, but Tonkin had a different plan and came up with the interception giving the ball back to the Stingers to set up the touchdown to senior receiver TJ Lynn, giving the Stingers a 21-0 going into halftime.

Just like the first half, the Stingers were the first on the scoreboard on a pass to senior tight end Zach Lutz who fumbled it; the ball was then picked up by Lynn who swarmed on the ball and took it in for the touchdown.

The next Stinger’s drive also resulted in points. Junior running back Liam Cornetto had a 9-yard touchdown set up by the good punt return by Lynn making it 35-0.

Marion Center would score one more time after Cornetto forced a fumble, and MC took over, and Tonkin had his second touchdown of the night making the score 41-0.

Penns Manor would finally put up points in the fourth quarter scored by Comets senior half back Justin Marshall now making it 41-7, which would be the final score of the game.

The Stingers advance to 2-0, traveling to the newly formed River Valley Panthers who are 1-0, so far this season.
