What are your expectations for your team this year? *
A deep senior group with plenty of varsity experience should lead the way for the younger players making the jump from JV. Last years loss of any camp/scrimmage and having to play 2 games the first week was a rough road. Looking forward to a full camp and non-conference schedule to play, learn, and grow as a team in 2021.
When your team is on offense, what are the keys to success? *
Injuries to key players forced others to step up in 2020. Brock Wilkins made the mid season transition to RB scoring 8 TDs in 7 quarters at the position. He will feature in a backfield that also returns 2020 newcomer James Pearson and others with HB Brayden Dunmire leading the way. QB’s Logan Johnson and Lebryn Smith return with 1st team All-Conference WR Calvin Heinle who hauled in 8 TDs in last years abbreviated season. D1 recruit Brandon Lawhorn Moore will anchor an O-line that also returns Sam Coleman and Brayden Mika.
When your team is on defense, what are the keys to success? *
3 year starters Brock Wilkins, Brayden Dunmire, and Matt Hilty will lead a LB crew that should be the backbone of the defense. A nice mix of new and returning talent on the D-line including Carter Dlits and in the Secondary with Isaiah Gonzalez and others should give the Cavs a strong defensive presence.
Players we should keep an eye on? *
SR, OT, Brandon Lawhorn Moore 6’5, 295 (Multiple D1 Offers)
SR, FB, Brock Wilkins 6’2, 230 (D1 interest)
SR, WR, Calvin Heinle 6’4 195 (D1/D2 interest)
SR, HB, Brayden Dunmire 6’1, 230
SR, Slot, Matt Hily 6’1 190
