After two consecutive winning seasons, Apollo-Ridge really struggled last season, going just 2-8. What has to change this offseason to right the ship and get back to winning games?

To get back to where we were previously, we definitely just need to play the way we’re capable of. We had a lot of inexperience last year. I think this year we will have more knowledge as a team and be ready to have some fun.

Last year, I asked you what your personal goal was, and you said to make the All-State team. Did you achieve this goal? If not, what do you have to do to achieve that goal this year?

I did not meet my goal of making the all-state team last year. I feel like this year I need to have a healthy season and enjoy playing every week.

Have you heard from any colleges about playing college ball? If so, can you name a few of them for us?

I have definitely had some great recruiting experiences this off-season and it is truly a blessing. I have been fortunate enough to talk to schools from the power five level to the division three level.

What is your favorite and least favorite thing about practice?

My favorite thing about practice is being outside playing my favorite game with my friends. My least favorite part is when we walk through plays and don’t get to be super active.

Who is the one team you guys played this season that you have not tasted victory against that you most want to beat this season?

Honestly, we are just hungry to get back to a winning tradition. We obviously play in a great conference, and week to week we will have to prepare and play our best.

What is the best advice you have been given by a coach about playing football and who was it?

The best advice I ever got from a football coach was to have fun playing this sport because you won’t be able to do it forever.

What is your game day routine?

My game day routine is to always have a great day at school first. Then I’ll sit in the locker room and listen to music (that doesn’t get me pumped up). You can’t have the adrenaline pumping too early. Then we go to the field, where I lay down until about an hour before game time. Then I start getting pumped up and ready to go play.

What has been your fondest memory of the football field?

My fondest memory of playing football was in my sophomore season, playing against Steel Valley. It was just a great night and we really had a lot of fun as a team.

Have you watched any of the USFL games?

To be honest, I haven’t watched any of the USFL games.

What is your favorite place in your town to eat?

My favorite place to eat is right up the road in Indiana. It’s called Umi. I’m a big sushi guy, so that place is my go-to.
