LET’S GET TO KNOW DREVON

Why do you play football?

Ever since I was 5 I grew up around football my older brother played football in little league and taught me so much stuff. From catching the ball to holding the ball secured to running little routes and getting the feel of a Wide Receiver. He guided me threw football and life to where I was looking up to him as my role model. I really felt connected and gravitated to football when I was 11 that’s when I knew that football was the game that I wanted to play and live for the rest of my life it was like I couldn’t live without football and so every time I get a chance to play football it just makes me go harder for the ones I love and for my brother to hopefully show my brother that the things he taught me where useful in my career.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

Deion Sanders like who wouldn’t love Prime Time and all the fashion that he had on but one thing that I learned from him is that you can have all the fashion in the world but your fashion doesn’t speak through pads you and your odd and your game speaks for itself.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

This one is hard, first game Junior year we were playing Monessen Greyhounds and previously in my sophomore year when we played them in the playoffs I suffered a concussion which led me to be out for the rest of the year but coming back junior year the game started and it was like second quarter and I was cramping badly but I had to keep going so I ran a go route and beat the corner and the safety was late running over and my quarter back EJ threw a good ball where I high pointed the ball and scored and seeing my team run to me and we cheered together had to be the greatest moment.

What was last years season like for you?

Last year season was ups and downs, felt like we were strong and knew what we wanted to do and was trying to complete the goal but we just couldn’t stay focus on the goal. we were dealt with to many distractions which some of them we overcame but we couldn’t overcome all of them

What are your goals for this coming season?

To just dominate every game, uplift my teammates and coaches and make the best of my senior season and to end the season without any regrets on myself or my team

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

To be honest there’s a lot of good players out there but it had to be my own teammate Raequan Troutman everyday in practice we were always battling me at receiver and him at corner he was always working me which was making us both battle but it was definitely a up and up battle with him which better us both for Friday nights

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

I would love to visit a Penn State white out game just having the crowd giggled and the music blasting definitely would have my whole body in shock

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Kansas City Chiefs

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

The game we played against Olsh it was hype Friday night under the lights and we were just battling where the game had to end on the final seconds which was like crazy cause there was just smack talk and fun and a whole bunch of young men and men who loved the game of football

What would you do to improve the recruiting process?

Just show that I’m capable of playing at the next level and when I get that chance Ima show them the player and leader that recruited wasn’t a mistake

Describe what the perfect teammate is

Somebody who leads the team and is eager to play and doesn’t have excuses for their mistakes but owns up and makes a good play after and keeps making good plays and also just the connection off the field between teammates

Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community

Because it keeps teens out of trouble like Friday nights you could be doing anything else but you decided to go and watch a football game and stay out of trouble

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Become a coach after I’m done playing. Either in college or the NFL

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

My grandfather just to hear his stories and be a good male figure in other peoples lives where he is a gentleman and a tough person but he definitely loves to see people succeed and do good things

What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?

LSU Drill is my favorite but the least favorite is tackling wheel

Preseason Two a Days are:

Fun and tiring but they are competitive to where you want to show up everyday and ball out not even worrying about the weather

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

My Aunt Riesse she always wants to see me do good things and cracks down on me when things aren’t going good but motivates me to move to the next thing and do good

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

Write poetry or play the game
