There’s a reason Jake Cummings was awarded as the teams most improved player. Leechburg head coach Randy Walters says he has “unlimited potential. 4.2 student. Incredible worker. The sky is the limit for Jake”. Jake comes in off a sophomore year that saw him score 6 touchdowns, but with Jake its more than getting into the endzone. His play at linebacker is solid and he has a goal to be even better on defense in 2023.

Why do you play football?
I play football because it’s gives you discipline and a challenge. Also the memories you can make through football also contribute to why I play.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Josh Allen because he only had proved everyone wrong and made it to the NFL.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
My favorite my was probably the end around. This play was the play that got me my first high school touchdown.
What was last years season like for you?
Last years season for me was really good. I just need to work on my linebacker position a little more.
What are your goals for this coming season?
My goal is for us to make it to the third round of playoffs and maybe even the WPIAL championship. Also to have better stats then I had last year.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
Capone Jones from Clairton
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
Neyland Stadium
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
Penguins
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
The Golden State Warriors vs the Cleveland Cavaliers in the championship. I removed going crazy watching this game when I was a kid
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
Creed, I have always loved this movie and it always got me so pumped up to do something.
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
Yes, hit somebody.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Play quarterback
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
My mentor is probably my dad. My dad has always been hardworking and he is well respected. My dad has always been there for me, and I strive to be like him for those reasons.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
When I got trucked in middle school.
Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?
My pap always tries to make it to every one of my games. He also always congratulates me as well.
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
My go to activity is probably playing chess. Chess and other games like that have always been fun to play for me.
What is your favorite football memory to date?
When we won the Super Bowl for the first time in youth football.
What is your favorite play to run?
Five yard out

Spiders

What was your favorite gift as a little boy? Why?
My favorite gift as a little boy was to see my family around Christmas time and all of us get together.
What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?
Olive Garden

What is your favorite vacation destination?
My favorite vacation destination is probably the woods in a a cabin during winter time.
Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?
The first football game I saw was my older cousin play at his high school.
