Aliquippa rolls to easy win over Central Valley (Gallery)

The last time Aliquippa and Central Valley played it was a thrilling game. Tonight though was a completely different story with Aliquippa prevailing with a dominant 34-7 win over Central Valley.

Central Valley got the ball to start the game but went three and out. Aliquippa started their first drive on their own 14 yard line. It was a long drive which was a theme of the game. After a big run by Tiqwai Hayes they were in Central Valley territory. Later in the drive he would finish it off by scoring on a 2 yard run. That made the score 7-0 Aliquippa with 2:47 in the first quarter. The Aliquippa drive took 16 plays and went 86 yards and took up 8:15 of the first quarter.

Central Valley got the ball for a second time and on this drive they did get into Aliquippa territory. They decided to go for it on fourth down but didn’t convert. The score at the end of the first quarter was 7-0 Aliquippa.

In the second quarter Aliquippa started a drive at their own 38 yard line. It was yet again another long drive a big pass play got them into Central Valley territory and eventually Tiqwai Hayes scored his second touchdown of the evening on a 1 yard run. The score offered as time expired in the first half. This was yet another long drive which took 14 plays and went 62 yards taking up 6:06 of the second quarter.

Tiqwai Hayes was a major factor in the win for Aliquippa. He had 123 yards rushing yards on 26 carries and had 3 touchdowns. In the first half Aliquippa possessed the ball for over 18 minutes. The score at half was 14-0 Aliquippa.

Aliquippa got the ball to start the second half and once again it was yet another long drive. The drive started at their own 26 yard line when they got into Central Valley territory and after 2 penalties Aliquippa completed a long pass down to the Central Valley 14 yard line. Eventually Tiqwai Hayes scored for a third time making it 21-0 Aliquippa. This drive took 14 plays and went 84 yards and took up 6:59 of the third quarter.

Later in the third quarter Central Valley had a good looking drive. It was also aided by a couple of penalties. On fourth and goal Central Valley went for it and a pass fell incomplete.

The fourth quarter is where Aliquippa really started to roll. Midway through the fourth quarter Aliquippa took over at the Central Valley 28 yard line. After a couple of plays John Tracy scored on a 2 yard run making it 27-0 Aliquippa. Tracy also had a big game for Aliquippa he had 111 yards on 22 carries.

On the kickoff Aliquippa surprised Central Valley with an onside kick and they recovered and they took over at the 50 yard line. On the third play Quentin Goode completed a pass to Jayace Williams for a 34 yard touchdown. Goode also had a good game as well he was 6 of 12 for 117 yards. That made the score 34-0 with 1:36 remaining in the game.

Before the game ended Central Valley did get on the scoreboard when Antwon Johnson completed it to Brady Hudson for a 21 yard touchdown. That made the final score 34-7 Aliquippa.

Next week Aliquippa will play Allentown Central Catholic in PIAA 4A Semifinals at a site to be determined.
