Landon Brown
Kicker/Punter
Pine-Richland
Class of 2027
Committed to NAVY
“Landon Brown is a great kicker, but even better human being. Faced a ton of adversity losing his Junior year after leg injury in Game 1, but stayed the course and worked his tail off to get back better and stronger” said Pine-Richland Head Coach John LeDonne about his kicker who committed to Navy today. “He mentors our younger specialists, investing in the team for when he is gone. Comes from a close knit family who is very supportive.
Landon always participates in volunteer opportunities, representing the team with great pride”.
Landon made his announcement today on twitter so we took an opportunity to ask him about his decision, and a little bit more:
PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Midshipmen before your Sr season?
A lot of kickers usually get offered after the season and Navy offered me early and you can’t pass up that opportunity it also takes a lot of stress off of you, while the recruitment process can be a stressful time and I wanted to be stress free during the season
PFN: Who was your biggest influence there. , who recruited you?
Eli Heidenreich success coming out of the naval academy and the wpial was a huge inspiration to my decision! Coach Yokitis also being from Pittsburgh recruited me through out the whole process he stayed in contact the most out of anyone and I can’t thank him enough for giving me this opportunity. Overall Coach Yokitis and the staff showed the most love and support and I knew I wanted to be apart of that.
PFN: What are they getting in player like you?
They are gonna get a hard worker on and off the field. Most people say the Naval Academy is a huge challenge and I want to take that challenge on and become the best possible person I can be.
PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?
It was definitely a stressful process, especially being a kicker. As a kicker everything is late and unpredictable. A portal plays a big part in all of that.
PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?
Economics
PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?
They played a huge role in my decision they were the back bone of this whole process sacrificing a lot of time and money to help me in so many ways.
PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the program?
The most exciting part for me is playing for a top 25 program. As well as getting a top tier education and getting the opportunity to better myself and others by serving my country
PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for them?
The atmosphere at every single game and the amazing environment I will be put into.
PFN: Tell everyone out there in the football world something they’d never know about you until you told them:
I suffered a season ending injury my Junior year and I didn’t think I had the chance to bounce back but that injury was probably one of the best things to have happened to me. It made me physically but most importantly mentally stronger and made me work harder than ever.
PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?
Chris Boswell
Why do you play football?
For the relationships and bonds and I love to win
What would you do to improve the recruiting process?
As a kicker identifying where there is a opportunity and seeing who needs a kicker during the recruiting process
PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?
Thank you for always supporting me no matter what
What are your goals for this coming season?
I just want to help my team win a state championship title

It brings everyone together and builds a bond that you can’t break
