Penn State is getting a head start on its 2027 recruiting class by adding the third-best prospect in Pennsylvania. Khalil Taylor, a current Sophomore at Seton LaSalle, announced his commitment to Penn State Via X on Saturday, March 29th. Taylor was a key piece to a Seton LaSalle team that won 11 games and made it to the 2A WPIAL quarterfinals. Although extremely early, Penn State currently has the #1 class in the entire country. Taylor joins Laytron Von Brandt, a top-5 OT in the country, and Kemon Spell, a top-3 RB, as the three 2027 Penn State recruits.
It is unclear at this current time where Penn State and James Franklin will decide to utilize Taylor, but all signs point towards WR. As well documented, the Penn State receiving room struggled a year ago. Adding a potential game-changer in Khalil Taylor could do wonders for whoever is under center when the 2027 season rolls around. This news is great for the Nittany Lion faithful, but it will be another two years at Seton LaSalle before he suits up for Penn State. In those two years, it is very plausible to see Taylor grow as a player and potentially improve his recruiting ranking in the process.
