Penn Trafford Defeats Norwin 56-28

On Friday night the Norwin Knights lost to the Penn Trafford Warriors 56-28.

Penn Trafford opened the game with a score on their opening drive. This was the third play from scrimmage for the Warriors and it resulted in a 48 yard rushing touchdown from Junior WR Jessie Lisbon. 

Norwin would have to punt on their opening drive, and give the Warriors the ball back. The punt led to a 46 yard rushing touchdown from Freshman running back Ben Grabowski for a Warriors 14-0 lead over the Knights. 

After a five minute drive from the Norwin offense, they would go on to drive the field 72 yards, and cap it off with breaking tackles for an 18 yard rushing touchdown from Junior RB Jackson Huss with 2:15 left in the 1st.

The Warriors would take their drive into the second quarter with 7:19 left they completed a 34 yard touchdown pass from QB Michael Desmond to RB Gavin Chappie. 

The Knights would answer quickly with a 23 second drive, with one play, and then a 45 yard bomb from QB Tristyn Tavares to D1 recruit WR Jackson Pons to shrink the Warriors lead to only one possession. 

A long lived drive for the Warriors scored right before half, with a 4 yard rushing touchdown to extend Penn Trafford’s lead from Junior RB Tasso Whipple. 

The next drive for the Knights was short lived, ending in an interception from QB Tristyn Tavares to Penn Trafford’s Sophomore DB Tyler Boss to give the Warriors possession two minutes before half. 

The warriors would later drive down the field and with 15 seconds left on the clock QB Michael Desmond would throw an interception in the red zone to Norwin WR and DB Jackson Pons. 

Right out of the half the Knights would receive the kickoff and later drive down the field to complete a 7 yard touchdown pass from QB Tristyn Tavares to WR Jackson Pons with great defense in coverage. 

The Warriors would come onto the field for offense and have a 13 second drive resulting in a 64 yard rushing touchdown to extend Penn Trafford’s lead to 35-21. The touchdown came from RB Tasso Whipple with his second TD of the game. 

The Knights would take a 5 minute drive and cap it off with a 1 yard rushing touchdown from QB Tristyn Tavaras to make Penn Trafford’s lead only one score with a 35-28 lead.

Penn Trafford would go on to receive and get a good return to put them in good field position. They would later cap off that drive with a 16 yard rush from RB Ben Grabowski to make the score 42-28.

Penn Trafford would later go on to get two more touchdowns to extend their lead to 56-28. The two touchdowns would come from RB Ben Grabowski and RB Tasso Whipple.

The Warriors will improve to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in the Class 5A Big East conference. Where Norwin will fall to 3-3 overall and 1-2 in Class 5A Big East conference. Norwin will head to Franklin Regional next week for another conference matchup where the Warriors will travel back home for a big section matchup against the Gateway Gators.
