PAFootballNews.com’s third ranked team, Penn-Trafford, came into tonight’s game to take another step their pursuit of a conference championship. They succeeded by taking down a McKeesport that tried to put a stop to the Warriors dream with a hard fought 29-12 win.

The Tigers first attempt at blocking that pursuit came by scoring on their first drive when senior quarterback Devari Robinson threw the ball into the hands of the leaping senior wide receiver Deamontae Diggs. The point after attempt was blocked making the score, 6-0.

Continuing with their momentum, McKeesport would recover an onside kick on the ensuing kickoff. Penn-Trafford’s defense would hold the Tigers and force a punt. The Warriors responded on their first offensive drive with a touchdown by senior quarterback Gabe Dunlap, who pushed into the endzone from the 1 yard line to make the score 7-6.

McKeesport wouldn’t waste time in responding when Robinson kept the ball and went 91 yards to the endzone to end the first quarter. After a failed two-point conversion attempt, McKeesport would lead 12-7 going into the second quarter.

The second quarter would be rough for the Warriors. Penn-Trafford would lose senior running backs Caleb Lisbon and Sam Fanelli with apparent right knee injuries. Neither would return to the game. Despite the loss of two star playes, the offense continued to march on and regained the lead when Dunlap found wide-open senior receiver Cole Defillippo in the middle of the field and he would take it into the endzone. The Warriors were up 14-12 going into halftime.

The defenses would hold strong and it would take until the end of the third quarter for any points to be scored when Dunlap snuck into the endzone for his third touchdown of the night to make the score 21-12.

In the fourth quarter, junior running back Brad Ford came in for the injured Fanelli and Lisbon. He put the final nail in the coffin when he raced into the endzone for the touchdown.

Penn-Trafford travels Washington High School in Ohio to play the storied Massillon football team at 7:30 next Friday. McKeesport takes on conference foe Plum on the road at 7.
