Peters Township has a nice problem.  The Indians have two highly recruited players with multiple D1 offers.  Safety Donovan McMillan and Linebacker Corban Hondru. Corban has an offers list that’s quite impressive. With Dartmouth, Akron, Penn, Youngstown St, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, William & Mary and more he had plenty of choices. What he didn’t have was a hard time deciding. Earlier today on twitter he made the announcement that he’s chosen Miami of Ohio.

We caught up with the talented linebacker to ask him about that decision:

PFN: How long have you played football?

Corban: I started playing in 1st grade

PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the RedHawks?

Corban: I chose the redhawks because it checked all of my boxes and it felt like the right fit.

PFN: Why commit early?

Corban: I committed early so I have my senior season to focus on.

PFN: Who was your biggest influence at Miami, who recruited you?

Corban: Coach Martin and coach nowinsky both were recruiting me heavily.

PFN: What are they getting in player like you?

Corban: They are getting a leader and a determined hard worker that will refuse to be outworked and will do whatever it takes to win on the field and in the classroom.

PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?

Corban: It was good but long.

PFN: What position were you recruited for?

Corban: I was recruit to be a true inside mike linebacker.

PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?

Corban: I’m leaning towards studying business or sports management.

PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?

Corban: My parents played a big role, they were very influential in where they thought I should go that would benefit me.

PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the RedHawk program?

Corban: The winning football tradition and that everyone is determined to win.

PFN: Tell everyone out there in RedHawk Land something they’d never know about you until you told them:

Corban: I’m a big Marvel fan.

PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?

Corban: I’ve had so many people influence me in football I can’t pin point one but I’d have to say my dad because he taught me how to play the right way.

PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?

Corban: I’m thankful for all my teammates for always pushing me to be the best I can be and always teaching me new things.

PFN: Did the fact that camps are pretty much cancelled due to coronavirus have anything to do with your decision?

Corban: No, the no camps didn’t influence my decision a ton. I didn’t plan on going to any camps this summer.
