Over the weekend Serra Catholic DB Pharoh Fisher made a life changing decision. The talented 6-0, 193 pound DB turned down two other service academies, Army and Air Force, and committed to the U.S. Naval Academy football program. We caught up with Pharoh and asked him about his decision:

PFN: Why did you choose to commit to the Naval Academy?
Pharoh: Wherever I went, I wanted to be able to play a high level of football as well as be put in the best position possible for my future away from the field. I really just love the environment and the relationship I’ve built with the coaches over the last couple months. Can’t wait to play under Coach Niumatalolo!

PFN: Who was your biggest influence there. , who recruited you?
Pharoh: My biggest influence there was Coach Yokitis. We’ve talked a lot throughout the year and he’s been consistent and honest with me throughout the whole recruiting process and I love that! I’ve also talked to Cameron Kinley and he had nothing but great things to say about the academy.

PFN: What are they getting in player like you?
Pharoh: They are getting a lockdown defender that can play any position on the field.

PFN: What was the recruiting process like for you?
Pharoh: The recruiting process for me was hectic. With COVID slowing everything down last year me as well as a lot of my other 2022 guys really had to work hard for these opportunities. I was in contact with schools such as Michigan, Pitt, Penn State, Liberty, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, and several others but I really saw my home in The Naval Academy .

PFN: Do you know what you’d like to study?
Pharoh: Business and Marketing

PFN: What role did your parents play in your decision?
Pharoh: A very big role we’ve talked almost everyday about where I’d go, it was definitely the most decision in my life thus far.

PFN: What do you think is the most exciting thing about the Naval Academy program?
Pharoh: What I find most exciting about the Academy is the endless opportunities I have aside from football. I can tell they really care and take care of all of their student athletes.

PFN: What are you most looking forward to while playing for them?
Pharoh: What I’ve been looking forward to the most is balling out on National TV!

PFN: Tell everyone out there in the football world something they’d never know about you until you told them:
Pharoh: My middle name is Quan.

PFN: Who is the person who most influenced you in your football career?
Pharoh: Who influenced me the most in my football career is my dad hands down. He’s pushed me to be the best I could be for the last 12 years and it’s turned me into who I am now.

PFN: What is it you’d like all your high school teammates and fans to know about your decision that you might have a hard time saying in person?
Pharoh: That I’m going to miss them and I enjoyed the last 4 years they’ve all shared with me
