South Park defeats Seton LaSalle in close contest

On Friday night the Seton LaSalle Rebels lost to the South Park Eagles 35-28. 

South Park opened the game with the ball, and on their opening drive would score. This was all set up by a 63-yard rush in wildcat formation by Doerue. Quarterback Zach Ludwig to TE Wyatt Markovich for the touchdown. 

Seton responded on their following offensive drive with a wildcat play of their own from O’Malley Daly. 

After a South Park punt, the Rebels would strike again when on a fake pitch play by QB Michael Pastirik and he threw it to Khalil Taylor for the touchdown. 

 

However, before the quarter would close out Roedue would tie the game back up at 14 a piece off another wildcat okay. 

The next score wouldn’t come until 13 minutes and 21 seconds later when Khalil Taylor would score for the Rebels and take the lead 21-14. 

South Park before the half was over would intercept a Pastirik pass and would score on the following drive to tie the game at 21, 

When coming back from the break, South Park would kick it off, however it was a surprise onside kick and recovery. Ludwig had his third passing TD of the night on this drive when he found WR AJ D’augostino. 

When the Eagles kicked off following their score Taylor would take it back 90-yards to the house to again tie the game up at 28. 

There wouldn’t be another score until 20 plus minutes later. In that time period there would be two interceptions for both teams. 

Roedue would break the scoring drought and have his second touchdown of the night with under four minutes remaining in the game. 

The South Park defense would stand tall and stop the Rebel offense and would win the game. 

Ludwig went 7 for 12 with 106 yards and three touchdowns. Defensive lineman Parker Cuningham had two interceptions on the night as well. Runinngback Eric Roedue had 30 carries for 185 yards and two touchdowns for the Eagles.

The Rebels fall to 4-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference. South Park is 4-2 overall and is 1-2 now in the conference. Seton LaSalle will head to West Mifflin next week, while the Eagles will host Quaker Valley.
