The defending state champs are headed back to “chocolate town” as the Thomas Jefferson Jaguars defeated the Oil City Oilers 62-0 in tonight’s PIAA 4A state semi-final.
The game was never really close. Preston Zandier started it up for Thomas Jefferson with a 20-yard catch and run less than two minutes into the game. Zandier was just getting started though. On the following Jaguar drive after a few penalties on 2nd and 28 Quarterback Jake Pugh found Zandier again on a crossing route and Zandier went untouched 37 yards to the house for his second touchdown in the first 5 minutes of the game.

Before Zandier had a chance to complete his hat trick, teammate Conner Murga scored from 40 yards out after breaking three tackles on his way to the endzone to make it 21-0. Zandier then scored his 3rd touchdown of the game with a 10-yard catch.

It was still the 1st QUARTER! Now that Zandier had his highlight show in the 1st quarter now it was time for Murga to pile on his stats. On the second play of the 2nd quarter Murga would run in a score from two yards out making it 35-0.
