Warriors blank Knights to remain undefeated

On Friday night the undefeated Elizabeth Forward Warriors hosted the undefeated Knoch Knights in a non-conference game. The Warriors would best the Knights 22-0 in a rather sloppy affair on both sides.

The Warriors scored on their second drive when Quarterback Ryan Messina found Wide Receiver Isaiah Turner to make it 7-0 Warriors. That would be the only time that either two teams would score in the 1st Quarter, which was due to good defense from both teams.

The Warriors once again got on the board through the air when Messina found Turner in the middle of the 2nd Quarter. After a failed two point conversion the Warriors added to their lead 13-0. The game started to get very sloppy heading into the half, both teams became very comfortable with the yellow flag.

When play continued the sloppyness carried over until Warriors kicker, William Sinay, broke the scoreless drought when he nailed a field goal with 3:28 left in the 3rd Quarter to increase the Warrior’s lead to 16-0.

The Warriors quickly got the ball back and answered. Warriors Running Back, Jace Brown would bully his way into the endzone with 1:10 left in the 3rd Quarter to bring the Warriors lead to 22-0.

The 4th Quarter would be quiet for both teams and would be the only scoreless Quarter of the game. The Warriors would win the game 22-0 due to Isaiah Turner who had 2 receiving touchdowns and a pick.

Elizabeth Forward improves to 5-0 on the season and they look to continue that undefeated streak when they host their first conference game against Southmoreland next Friday.

Despite the loss, the 4-1 Knights look to bounce back next Friday when they host the 4-1 Deer Lakes Lancers. This will be the first conference game for either team.
