Pittsburgh – Westinghouse outscored Allderdice 26-0 in the second half en route to a 40-8 win.

“It feels great right now, and I feel fantastic for our guys,” said Westinghouse head coach Dontae Green. “We’ve had this hanging over our head all year after falling short last season. I’m proud of this team coming together and getting the job done.”

Westinghouse completes a perfect regular season at 9-0, capped off with a City League title.

The victory avenges the Bulldogs’ 14-0 loss to the Dragons in last season’s City League Final.

“We didn’t look at this as revenge; we looked at it as a new season,” Green said. “Every week, we focus on getting better at what we do.”

The Bulldogs scored on four straight possessions to begin the second half, breaking open a 14-8 halftime lead.

“The message at halftime was to finish,” said Green. “We’ve been a second half all year. I knew we would come out firing on all cylinders. I’m proud of my guys for that.”

Khalil Taylor, who rushed for a game-high 140 yards on 14 carries, scored on runs of 23 and 48 yards.

Following a turnover, Sincere Smith caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from game MVP Keyshawn Morsillo.

“Allderdice played good football in the first half. Take nothing away from them,” Green said. “We take pride in the work we put in. That effort kicked in during the second half. We were able to run the ball and wear them down.”

Smith caught five passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

Smith’s 33-yard reception from Morsillo was the icebreaker with 2:49 to play in the first quarter.

Allderdice tied the game when Eugene Hall caught a 4-yard touchdown from Azerick Jetter. The score was set up on Hall’s 51-yard run on a fake punt.

“We hung with them for a while, but they’re big, strong, and fast, said Allderdice head coach Jerry Haslett. “They’re a good double-a team, and they’ll give teams fits in the state tournament. They wore us out in the second half, and my hats off to them. They played a great game.”

Keyshawn Morsillo’s 1-yard with 1:53 to play in the first half gave Westinghouse a 14-8 halftime lead. Morsillo completed 9-of-15 passes for 156 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 46 yards and a score.

“This type of performance is what we’ve expected,” said Green. “Sincere has been a big play guy for us all season. Keyshawn is an awesome weapon to have with what he can do not only with his arm but also his legs.”

Roderick Jeter’s 12-yard run in the fourth quarter closed the scoring. Jeter rushed for 36 yards in the game.

Allderdice was limited to 199 yards of offense for the game. Azerick Jetter led the Dragons going 14-for-23, passing for 149 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

“Our defense has been our strength all season,” Green concluded. “Our line and linebackers have played well all season. I’m proud of the performance of this team tonight, especially the defense. These guys deserve this win.”

Westinghouse will now move on to play in the District 5/8 sub-regional playoffs.

Allderdice will have a week off before meeting the District 10 champion, either McDowell or Butler.
