What does your offense need to improve on from last year?
Consistency. We showed signs of being somewhat effective moving the ball at times at the tail end of last season. We need to not rely on big plays, and be able to move the chains and move the ball without self-inflicted penalties. Most of the guys who will touch the ball for us this year were the same guys we had last season. Our coaching staff and players are fairly close to exactly the same as last season.
What does your defense need to improve on from last year
We need to be more aggressive and attacking. We hope to play a downhill, 11 hats to the ball style of defense. We like our chances if we’re taking it to the other team. We don’t have the personnel to sit back and let teams nickel and dime us down the field.
What are your overall thoughts on this years team?
We have some hopeful kids transitioning to the football field from the soccer field that may help us on Special Teams. If may give us a chance to put points on the board without having to cross the goal line. Also, we have a team heavy with Juniors and seniors that have taken their lumps and are ready to give other teams’ headaches. If our experience can prove they’ve matured and learned from the past two seasons then we could be a contender.
