You are the fourth Yahner to play for Brockway. I have read that all of those before you were good players. Does this add pressure on you to be as good as those before you or even better?

As the fourth Yahner brother, I had huge shoes to fill in continuing family tradition, but I felt like I had transitioned into varsity football instantly. I felt pressured at the start, but I do believe that I am the best Yahner just after my sophomore season. I do have to give some credit to my brothers, Joel and Pierce. Those two have helped me develop into the player that I am and given me the confidence to strive. They have coached me up going into every season.

2018 was the last time Brockway had a winning season. What will it take for the 2022 team to turn things around?

As 2018 was the last winning season for Brockway, I believe that it was a rebuild, and it truly was a rebuild with the bringing in of a brand new offense and defense. To bring back our winning ways, it will take all of us to collectively work together every week of the summer, grinding in practice rep after rep and learning plays to be fully prepared for the season.

3-What have you been able to do this off-season to improve your game?

I’ve been lifting 5 days a week to improve my game for next season, seeing my lifting numbers skyrocket and lifting to get strong now, transferring that strength onto the football field.

4-What has been your fondest memory on the football field as well as your biggest disappointment?

My fondest memory on the football field was upsetting Union AC Valley in the first game of the season last season as we were not projected to win that game, and my biggest disappointment also was last season when we got stopped on the 1-yard line as time ran out to win the game against Port Allegheny. I dread that moment to this day.

5-Are you hoping to play football in college?

I am planning to play college football as that has been a dream of mine since I was a kid.

6-What is the best advice you have received from a coach as far as football goes? Which coach was it?

The best advice I received from a coach was to always grind and keep working even when nobody is looking; don’t matter what others are doing, just keep working; and that advice was from my head coach, Jake Heigel.

7-As far as road games you play, which stadium is the hardest to play at?

The hardest stadium to play in, I would say, would have to be Kane’s Stadium. It was a very muddy environment.

8-Can you share something with the readers that might shock those who are close to you?

Something that would shock the reader is that I think the sitcom The Office is highly overrated.

Have you been able to watch any of the USFL games? If you have, what are your thoughts on them?

I have watched the premiere of the USFL games and I haven’t watched since, but I do think that it is a great opportunity for one to take if they do not make it into the NFL.

10-What type of music do you like the best?

My favorite genre of music is jazz hip hop, for example. Tyler, The Creator.
