As a running back, Luke has the size and strength to break a few tackles. He’s a downhill runner that doesn’t pretend to be a world class sprinter but you better not try to catch him from behind. Defensively he can track the ball with ease. Solid technique.

LET’S GET TO KNOW LUKE

Why do you play football?

Football is the greatest team sport in the world. There is no other sport where you can go hit someone as hard as you can and get away with it. And there’s no other sport that brings you closer to your teammates.

Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?

TJ Watt, I like how aggressive and violent he plays on defense. He’s able to make plays while being block by guys way bigger than him by using his speed and strength.

Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:

During our game against Farrell my sophomore year I made a good tackle which prevented a touchdown in the red zone. It was a straight dive to my side and I was being blocked by a senior guard listed at 6’2” 325lbs. I wasn’t sure which side the running back was going so I hit and drove the guard back ripped off of him and made the tackle. While it looked like just any other play on film, it made me realize that I could really be good at this if I continued to work.

What was last years season like for you?

My last season was cut short when I tore my ACL during the second game of the season against Redbank. It ended what was looking like a very good season where I had 200 yards rushing and upwards of 30 tackles. It also crushed out hopes of a district 9 title and a deep run into the state playoffs which is always the goal for our seasons .

What are your goals for this coming season?

I want to be district 9 defensive mvp and have over 1000 yards rushing.

Who is the best player you ever lined up against?

Anthony Stallworth

What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?

Mercedes-Benz Stadium

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Steelers

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?

Clemson vs Ohio state in the 2019 PlayStation Fiesta bowl. I got to see one of the greatest catches live and experience the atmosphere of the dome in Arizona.

Describe what the perfect teammate is

The perfect teammate is someone who is willing to put themselves on the line for the betterment of the team. It’s someone who will hold themselves accountable for their mistakes and motivate others to be accountable for theirs while giving 100% effort every single play.

Tell everyone why you think football is good for a community

Football gives a community something to rally behind.

Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?

Pick 6

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?

Michael Jordan, he never made an excuses. He was not naturally talented; he worked for everything he got. No matter what the circumstances were he wanted to win. He is one of the most competitive people on the planet and would do anything it takes to win.

What is your favorite practice drill? What is your least favorite practice drill?

My favorite practice drill is inside run and my least favorite is Burma Road (a long obstacle course done multiple times during camp)

Preseason Two a Days are:

Fun

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

Watching College Football. I like to watch college football because it is more competitive and relatable than the pros. I try to pick up as much as I can from it.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

First round of State playoffs we played Farrell which is still the best competition I’ve played to date. It was at home and freezing and the field was covered in a foot of snow. I had one of my best defensive games of my career tackling Anthony Stalworth who was considered one of the best running backs in the league. The snow didn’t let up for the entire game and even though we lost it is still my favorite memory just from the experience.

What is your favorite play to run?

Sweep through the 6 whole from tailback

is a hot dog a sandwich?

No

Music of choice:

Classic Rock/Rap

Best Pizza topping?

Mushrooms

Which one? Sheetz or Wawa

Sheetz

What is your favorite vacation destination?

Aruba

Do you remember what the first football game you saw was?

Notre Dame vs Temple opening night at Notre Dame Stadium
