District 9 Review – Week 1

Tagged under: District 9, News

The most important thing this week is that everyone should be in prayer for Mason Martin, Karns City’s quarterback, who was injured in the game with Redbank on Friday.  He suffered a significant brain bleed and a collapsed lung.  He was flown to Pittsburgh where he underwent surgery.  He is still in critical condition at this time.  Let’s all pray for a full recovery.

The Game of the Week was the humdinger between DuBois and Brockway, that the Rovers won 14-13 in overtime.  Both teams scored in the first quarter and never scored again until the extra stanza.  It appeared, at least on that night, the two teams were of equal stature.  DuBois did miss a long field goal in the fourth quarter and the extra point to send the game into double OT was ever so slightly wide right.  Blake Pisarcik scored both of Brockway’s touchdowns.
