To start the 2026 NFL season there were 18 former Philadelphia Catholic, Public & Inter-Ac players who earned roster spots. St. Joes Prep leads the pack with 7 former players on NFL Rosters.
Rookie LB Josiah Trotter (SJ Prep) earned his first career start for the Tampa Buccaneers and made an immediate impact racking up 11 tackles, a sack and an interception returned for a touchdown in their loss to Cincinnati.
Rookie DB Ayden Garnes (Bonner-Prendie) made the Bucs 53-man roster as a rookie free agent but was inactive for Week 1.
DB Tykee Smith (Imhotep) started at safety for the Bucs and notched 4 tackles.
LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr. (SJ Prep) the older brother of Josiah recorded 2 tackles in their win.
OL Jon Runyan Jr. (SJ Prep) started for the New York Giants in their upset win over Dallas Cowboys.
LB Abdul Carter (La Salle) started for the New York Giants and had 3 tackles in the win over Dallas.
TE Kyle Pitts (Archbishop Wood) started for the Falcons in their loss to the Bengals.
WR Olamide Zaccheaus (SJ Prep) caught 1 pass for 5 yards in the Falcons loss to the Bengals.
DL Christian Baramore (Neumann Goretti) started and recorded 1 tackle in the season opener loss to Seattle
LB Omar Speights (Imhotep) recorded 2 tackles, and a pass break up in the Rams loss to San Francisco
WR DJ Moore (Imhotep) in his Bills debut he caught 5 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in a win over Houston.
RB D’Andre Swift (St. Joes Prep) rushed for 124 yards & 3 touchdowns in the Bears win over Houston.
WR Marvin Harrison Jr (St. Joes Prep) caught 1 pass for 33 yards in a win over the Chargers.
DL Teair Tart (West Philadelphia) recorded 2 tackles in the loss to the Cardinals.
LB Zaire Franklin (La Salle) recorded 4 tackles in the loss to the Vikings.
DL Jihad Ward (Bok) was signed to the Vikings practice squad just prior to the season opener. He didn’t get elevated for the Packers game though.
DB Tyreek Chappell (Northeast) was placed on IR by the Vikings prior to the season opener.
QB Kyle McCord (St. Joes Prep) was traded to the Dolphins before Week 1 and will serve as the backup to Malik Willis this season.
