CSP Opens Season With Convincing Victory over Wilson

To start the 2022 campaign, the CSP Wolfpack unveiled a new look and a sophomore quarterback. The result harkened back to the back-to-back championship campaigns. The Triumvirate from Clymer, Sherman, and Panama, jumped out to an easy two score lead through the first twelve minutes. It was smooth sailing until a fluke pass turned into a defensive return touchdown for the visiting Lakemen from Wilson’s Carter Pytlik. The kick failed, and the guests were within striking distance.

However, CSP would answer with a 9-yard run by sophomore Tate Catanese. After Wilson’s Jake Mahar scored from 5 yards out, CSP again answered the call with a score of their own, squeezing in one last score in the final minute of the half. Another Trent Burchanowski run, this from 4.

The second half was a slow slog through a scoreless third as the sun became relentless. Wilson struggled to move the ball and the fourth quarter was all CSP. Catanese would add another touchdown run, while Austin White would cap the scoresheet with a 41 yard touchdown run, winning 40-14.

CSP travels to Randolph next Friday night. The Randolph Cardinals opened the season with a 39-20 road victory against Salamanca.
