This was the first game of the Don Franklin Scottie Bowl, at Glasgow high school in Glasgow, Kentucky. This was my first time here also the first time see LaRue County play. The crowd was a tad light but still very into it. Maybe, the mid 90’s temperatures kept the fair-weather fans away. Though I am not a big fan of stadiums with seating on just one side, I will admit it worked here and I enjoyed myself. The people I met were all very solid people. I also want to thank the guys in the press box for providing rosters to me for both games.

Kelley Bowen took in a 68-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage. Putting LaRue County up 6-0 with 11:28 left on the clock. A two-point conversion pass falls short of the receiver, so the score stayed at 6-0. John Harding seemed a little angry after giving up the score they responded very quickly when Isaiah Harris made a catch breaks two tackles to score from 18 yards out. Jake Owens with the point-after kick.7-6 John Hardin 7:42 1st. With the quarter rapidly nearing an end when on 4th and 10 Devon Brown uses his speed to go 20 yards for the John Hardin score. Owens hits the P.A.T to put John Hardin up14-6, with 2:26 left in the quarter. John Hardin would go up 21-6 on a Devon Rogers 28-yard pick-six.

In the second quarter After a body slam-like tackle by a LaRue County player a nice little fight starts at midfield. I believe the refs came out of their huddle saying as many as three players had been ejected. John Hardin seemed even more mad, after this and they really started putting a beat down on LaRue County. Rogers would get another pick. On the ensuing drive Strand would break multiple tackles on his way to a picks 26 yard gain. Rogers runs it in from one yard out. Owens connects making this a 28-6, with 3:12 remaining in the 2nd.

In the 2nd half, it was all John Hardin. Harris was wide open Rogers throws with the result being a 36-yard touchdown. Owens kick makes it 35-6. A little later Rogers avoids a tackle goes 58 yards for another John Hardin score making this a 41-6 game with 7:52 left in the one-sided contest. John Hardin was not done yet Strand with a 30-yard burst for another score. Owens with the point after kick made this a 48-6 game. That would be all of the scoring.

Even though LaRue county was beaten badly being completely outmanned to their credit those young men never let on like they were going to quit. John Hardin looks to have a very solid team, who could turn some heads this season. Rogers is a beast in the secondary and Brown is a complete player for LaRue County.
