Harbor Creek Cruises Past Franklin, 62-0

Harbor Creek – Harbor Creek improved to 3-0 for the first time since 2020 with a 62-0 victory over Franklin on Thursday.
Once again, senior tailback Gavin Zillman led the way. Zillman rushed for a game-high 178 yards on 13 carries, scoring four times.
Unlike in their previous two contests, when the Huskies got off to a slow start, they made quick work of the Knights Thursday night, jumping out to a 28-0 lead after the first quarter.
“This is a great feeling; we’ve had five or six guys starting since their sophomore year,” said Harbor Creek head coach John Angerer. “The last couple of years we’ve been floating around .500. We feel good right now; we’re injury-free for the most part. We still have some things we need to clean up and continue to improve as we head towards the meat of our schedule.”
Zilliman scored on two of the Huskies’ first three snaps, finding paydirt on runs of 33 and 39 yards.

Connor Fortin tossed a 42-yard touchdown pass to Caspin Herman, capping a 4-play, 58-yard drive, while Zillman punched home a 4-yard score following one of two interceptions by Gavin Galbreath.
Late in the first half, Herman returned an interception 32 yards for a touchdown as Harbor Creek led 34-0 at halftime.
Zillman ended his night offensively with a 49-yard touchdown run in the opening minute of the second half, putting the mercy clock into effect.
“It’s huge for us,” Zillman said. “We’ve wanted this for the four years we’ve been in high school. Now we’re looking to build off it. It’s been fun so far. It’s been nice to build this momentum for the future.”
He has now rushed for 687 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season.
Brady Powers added a pair of rushing touchdowns, scoring on runs of 6 and 25 yards. Powers rushed for 96 yards on 10 carries.

The Huskies closed the scoring when sophomore Julian Clark scored on a 49-yard run with 5:13 to play in the contest.
Franklin got 36 rushing yards from Connor Johnson and 96 yards passing from Harrison Doty.
Harbor Creek will shoot for 4-0 next Friday night when they host Fairview. The Knights will host Cathedral Prep.
