The Hempfield Black Knights opened Georgelis Law Firm Stadium for the final time in their 2026 football season. J.P. McCaskey visited them, in hopes to spoil their ‘Senior Night celebrations. Nonetheless, Hempfield slayed the Red Tornado, 45-12.

Hempfield started off fierce on the ground for a 20-yd rushing score from senior Ramel Lyles on their very first play from scrimmage to take a 7-0 lead. McCaskey was stopped again, like their first drive being forced to punt. Capitalizing on their defensive stop, senior quarterback Landon Charles scored a 2-yd rushing touchdown to extend their lead to 14-0 near the end of the first quarter.

Now in the second quarter, McCaskey’s screen-heavy offense continued to stall. The Black Knights received the ball across the 50, already in Tornado territory. The ground game continued to work for Hempfield, as Ramel Lyles secured his 2nd rushing touchdown of this game for 7 yards. Down 21-0, the Red Tornado struggled to weather the storm efficiently early on in the quarter. With each Hempfield stop, came more points for their offense it seemed. Under 3 minutes were left in the half as Landon Charles delivered a touchdown pass to his sophomore receiver Donte Willis for a 28-0 lead.

With 2:29 remaining in the first half, J.P. McCaskey’s offense finally found life after their first well-produced drive ended in a 1-yd rushing touchdown from junior, Bruszavion Baisch. Despite their touchdown, McCaskey missed their PAT attempt, making this one only 28-6. Immediately after, Hempfield responded on a squib kick touchdown return by Senior Sam Roettger to stretch their lead back to a 29 point game at 35-6. McCaskey cut the deficit a bit shorter with a deep ball to senior Haneef Porter to make it 35-12 at half.

Hempfield started with the ball after halftime, looking to shrug off an meaningless interception before the half by McCaskey defensive back, Jahsier Reeves. The Black Knights eventually settled for 3 this drive to make this one a 38-12 game with about 5 minutes left in the third quarter.

The final score of this came from Landon Charles scoring another rushing touchdown to extend their lead to 45-12 on the horizon of the 4th. McCaskey had their opportunities as the game progressed but could not finish productive drives or lost them due to turnovers. Looking ahead, Hempfield looks to end the season with a win on the road against the Manheim Township Blue Streaks, while J.P. McCaskey has their own ‘Senior Night next week to top off the season against the Wilson Bulldogs.
