Wilson and Cedar Crest, a battle of two 4-1 squads, went squarely in favor of the Bulldogs from literally the first play of the night. Before the first quarter was out, Wilson led 24-0 on their way to a 52-7 landslide victory on Homecoming night at John Gurski Stadium.
The first half belonged to Louisville commit Justice Hardy, who scored four times in three different ways within the first 13 minutes.
Cedar Crest struggled from the start. The center-quarterback exchange was a problem early and often, as was the Wilson secondary. On the first play, Aiden Harmon dove in front of a Steven Reyes pass. That put Wilson in business on the Falcons 15. Just three plays later, Justice Hardy took the handoff and trotted into the end zone off the right side for the 7-0 lead.
On Cedar Crest’s next offensive play, the snap went high and over Reyes’ head. He tried to fall on it at the 2, but the ball trickled into the end zone where Hardy recovered for the score. With 10:23 left in the first quarter, Wilson was already ahead 14-0.
And it didn’t get better for the Falcons. Their third possession netted two yards, forcing a punt from deep in their own territory. The Bulldogs took over on the Cedar Crest 46. Three plays later, it was a familiar sight with Justice Hardy in the end zone. This time, it was a pass from Peterson over the middle. Hardy shook off Eli Beard and made it 21-0 with 6:54 still to go in the first quarter.

The Falcons had more snap trouble and were flagged for a false start on their fourth possession, which forced a 4th & 22 and another punt. Fortunately for Cedar Crest, on Wilson’s ensuing possession, CJ Hallman got to Peterson for a 10-yard loss, ultimately forcing the Bulldogs to try a 35-yard field goal. Oxenreider nailed the kick with plenty of room to spare and the lead was pushed to 24-0 with :56 to go in the opening stanza.
Then Wilson went even harder. With the big lead, they burned all three of their first half timeouts to force another Cedar Crest punt before the quarter was out. Reyes lost 16 more yards on another snap that went by him. WIlson again took over in Falcons territory at the 41. On the first play of the second quarter, they capitalized one more time. Hardy took the handoff and initially went left. Hitting a wall there, he cut all the way back across the field and into the end zone from 14 yards out. At 31-0, Wilson was squarely in control.

Damian Greer tacked on with 6:00 to play in the half, taking a pitch and going off left tackle in for the score. This marked the first drive where Wilson ran a play in its own territory.
The Falcons had shown some signs of life, crossing midfield for the first time on their previous possession. After an interception on the Bulldogs 28, the Falcons were poised to avoid the second half starting in the mercy rule. After gains on passes from Reyes to Tirado and Kai Speaks, Cedar Crest was on the doorstep at the Wilson 4. However, another fumbled snap, the fifth of the night, was fallen on by the Bulldogs.
On the night, Wilson ran all but eight plays in plus territory.
After a great defensive play by Mason Cevette to sack Peterson for a big loss, Wilson turned the ball over on downs on 4th & 23 play. Cevette then found the end zone, making a leaping grab from 14 yards out with 9:40 to play.
Wilson tacked on twice more, getting more players involved. Senior Tyler Ulrich took one in from 38 yards out and NeChar Mercado capped the scoring after some hard fourth quarter runs.
The victory moves Wilson to 5-1 on the season and drops Cedar Crest to 4-2. The Bulldogs will play three of their last four on the road, beginning with a game at Hempfield next Friday. Cedar Crest looks to stop a two game skid when they host JP McCaskey.
