Kiski Extends Unbeaten Streak to 13 games
The Kiski School Cougars hosted the Peddie School Falcons for Homecoming Saturday and pulled out a solid 30-6 victory.
The Cougars defense dominated the game, only surrendering a late TD in the 4th quarter. The game was once again dominated by Kiski’s line play. DE Owen Urschler, and LBs James Harrison III and Ryan Crete led the defensive effort on the afternoon.
First Half
Kiski and Peddie would start off the match exchanging 3 and outs, with very physical line play and defensive run stops dictating the tone of the afternoon. Kiski’s run game would move the ball to the Peddie 33 on its second possession, and QB Joe Felitsky would connect with Omari Shirriel on a 32 yard strike to the Peddie 1. Two plays later RB Patrick Maignan would carry for a Kiski TD. The William LeComte PAT made the score 7-0 Kiski. Kiski’s defense would harass Peddie again and force a punt. The resulting Kiski drive led by runs and passes from QB Joe Felitsky would culminate in a 31-yard LeComte FG to push Kiski’s lead to 10-0 as the first quarter expired.
Kiski’s fierce defensive line dominated the second quarter. The Cougars stopped the run and put Peddie QB Vinny King under persistent pressure. DE Owen Urschler recorded several pressures and a critical sack to force a Peddie punt. Peddie would again threaten Kiski, but a tip on a pass play by Safety Resendo Holdrege would lead to a key interception by LB James Harrison III, his fourth of the season. Several long runs by Jones and a 32-yard Felitsky to Shirriel completion would drive the Cougars from their own 15 to the Peddie 13. RB Ryan Crete would cap the drive with a run off tackle for the second Kiski TD of the afternoon. The PAT would extend Kiski’s lead to 17-0. The Cougar defense would again hold Peddie, and with 44 seconds left in the half, Peddie QB King would attempt a quick kick punt. The kick was shanked, and Harrison would pick up the ball and race 50 yards to the end zone for an exciting late score. The Cougars would enter the half up 24-0.

Second Half
The teams would play to a scoreless stalemate in the third quarter, with Mason Jones, playing DB for an injured starter, intercepting his first pass of the season to stall a Peddie drive into Kiski territory. Jones would power the Kiski run game throughout the 3rd quarter and into the 4th, as Kiski moved the ball and ate up the game clock. Jones would cap a drive on 3-yard TD run (PAT blocked). Peddie would finally put a drive together late in the game, aided by a Kiski roughing the passer penalty, to get inside the Kiski 5 yard line. August Cassidy would take the snap under center and race around the end to finally get Peddie on the board. The ensuing PAT attempt was wide left. Kiski would recover the ensuing kickoff and go into Victory formation to kneel out the ensuing two plays, ending the game in a 30-6 Kiski School victory.
Kiski extends its record to 7-0 on the season, and has now won 13 straight games and 19 of its last 21 contests dating back to 2024. Kiski has now won three straight contests against Peddie.
The 7-0 Cougars await the Blue Ridge School Barons (St. George, VA), who will visit Kiski next Saturday for the last home game of the season. The Cougars defeated Blue Ridge 47-3 on the road in 2024. Peddie falls to 3-3 on the year, and will travel to meet the Pennington School (NJ) next Friday night.
