On a muggy, weather filled evening, the Lancaster Bruins would eventually defeat the York Cougars 30-23. Lightning in the area would push kickoff from 7:30 PM to an eventual 9:15 PM. It would be a slow start for both teams but the pace would eventually pick up and stay hot up until the end of the game.
The first quarter ended in a scoreless tie that carried halfway into the second when we were given a 22 yard connection from Lancaster for a touchdown. The ensuing kickoff was then taken 75 yards to the house tying the game at 7-7. Lancaster would find the end zone again before the quarter ended to take a 14-7 lead into the second half. York would add a touchdown and a safety in the third quarter to take a 16-14 lead before playing leap frog in the 4th quarter. Lancaster scored 10 seconds into the 4th quarter to reclaim the lead 22-16, after a successful 2 point conversion. York would answer back however to retake the lead 23-22. Leaving plenty of time on the clock for Lancaster, they were able to drive down the field and score with another successful 2PT conversion to take a 30-23 lead. One final possession for York would come down to a 4th down for the game where they would get stopped, giving Lancaster the win in a thriller.
