Lehigh Mountain Hawks Soar to 34-0 Win over Fordham Rams

The Lehigh Mountain Hawks improved to 6-0 overall and 4-0 in Patriot League play with a 34-0 shutout victory against the Fordham Rams at home. The star of the game was senior running back Luke Yoder, who finished the day with 171 yards on 20 carries, as the team had a combined 240 rushing yards.

After a scoreless first quarter, Lehigh struck first when QB Derek Morgan hit Anthony Feaster for the 30 yard TD, the first of his career. Lehigh went up 7-0 at the 13:32 mark of the 2nd quarter.

 

After an overturned targeting call and eventual Lehigh punt, the Mountain Hawks would get possession again late in the half, where a long Yoder run to the Fordham 10 set up Aiden Schomp’s first career TD, a 10 yard pass from Derek Morgan, that gave Lehigh a 14-0 lead with 2:50 left in the half.

 

Fordham would muff the kickoff, setting Lehigh up on the Rams 30. Luke Yoder’s 12 yard run gave Lehigh a 21-0 lead with 44 seconds left in the half.

After an Ignatious Williams interception, Anthony Feaster recorded his 2nd TD of the day, extending Lehigh’s lead to 28-0 with 19 seconds left in the half.

 

Lehigh’s Nick Peltekian recorded an interception after the TD to set his team up at the Fordham 9, where Connor Poole’s 26 yard FG gave the Mountain Hawks a 31-0 lead going into half.

 

After a William Parton Interception in the 3rd, Connor Poole kicked a 29 yard FG that gave Lehigh a 34-0 lead, which went onto be the final score.

Lehigh improved to 6-0 with the win, has won 23 consecutive regular season games, 16 straight Patriot League games, and are ranked 6th in FCS rankings. Lehigh will take on Cornell away on October 17th at 2 PM. As for the Fordham Rams, they fall to 1-5 on the season, and will head home to take on the Richmond Spiders on October 10 at 3:30 PM.
