Why do you play football?

I play football because it’s the ultimate team sport, but requires a high level of individual contribution. Also love the team camaraderie, hard work, and opportunity to release some aggression.

Who is your favorite sports star and why?

Zach Ertz. I model my game after his and he appears to be a good guy off the field.

What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game and why?

Super Bowl 52. The Eagles brought home their first Lombardi Trophy to the city, and proved that even with a backup QB that it was their year.

What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?

Philadelphia Eagles

What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?

Remember the Titans. It showed me how any team can overcome adversity and remains one of my all time favorite movies.

If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?

Mom: Go Matty Go!

Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like?

My mentor is my uncle, Brad Scioli. Brad played tight end and defensive end at Penn State and went on to play DE with the Colts for 6 years. I have always looked up to him for his work ethic, talent, and grit.

Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:

I would love to play water polo. I can’t because it interferes with football in the fall, but I have always been a good swimmer and love the physicality.

Is there anyone in your family, besides your parents, you could consider your biggest fan? Who, Why?

My grandpa “pops”. He never misses a game and is always the first to be there for me after a win or loss.

When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?

My go to activity is hanging out with my friends, family, etc. I’m a huge people person and love spending time with those that I love.

What is your favorite football memory to date?

My favorite memory is my first varsity start sophomore year. After coming off a 1-9 season, we defeated Northeast Highschool in our first game of the season which was hard fought and rainy. It set the tone for the season and proved the potential we had, making us work harder

What is your favorite play to run?

Four Verticals

Music of choice:

Rap and Hip Hop
