Committed to Villanova
Coach Says: Jackson’s got an incredible arm and is a really talented player. He just committed to Villanova to play quarterback after high school.
Why do you play football?
It’s just my favorite thing to do. Whether it’s just throwing the ball around and getting reps in or playing in an actual game, I just love to play. Any chance I get to pick up a football is something I always look forward to.
It’s gameday! What are you looking forward to the most?
Just having fun. All the preparation has already been done at that point. So just going out there with my guys having fun, and executing.
Who is your favorite sports star and WHY?
Tom Brady. Just the way he carries himself and the mindset he has is very inspiring. I think his mindset and dedication to preparation is the reason he’s the best to ever play.
Do you have a favorite play you remember the most? Explain:
I would say my favorite play from this past season came on EA Haverford day. It was on first down right after our defense made a huge play and forced a turnover on about the 15 yard line. We had been practicing this play all season but hadn’t really had the chance to use it in a game yet. We dialed up essentially switch verticals with a wheel out of the backfield and I threw it to Jackson Orcutt in the back of the end zone and he went up and got it. It was a huge play in the game and put us up two scores right before half.
What was last years season like for you?
It was a great time, I was super lucky to be able to come in as the new and be welcomed so quickly by my teammates. Our senior class was unbelievable and our defense played great all throughout the season which made my job a lot easier. It was pretty cool being apart of a team that had so much success and being able to play in big games is something I always want to be apart of.
What are your goals for this coming season?
We have a younger team this year with tons of upcoming talent as well as returning talent, so i’m excited to show what we can do. I want to win the Inter-Ac out right this year as well as take care of business in our tough out of league schedule we have this year.
Who is the best player you ever lined up against?
It’s not a specific player but I would say Malvern’s outside linebackers last year were very good. They were tough to game plan for and made a lot throws super difficult.
When the game is on the line, which college/professional coach would you like to call in the play?
John Gruden, I think he has a great offensive mind and it would be pretty cool to have him dial something up.
What stadium, HS/college/pro would you love to visit for a game?
Either Beaver stadium or the Big house.
What is your favorite Pro team, any sport?
The Philadelphia Eagles
What game, yours, college or pro, was your favorite game you watched and why?
2018 Super Bowl with Nick Foles and Tom Brady
What sports movie would you watch every day if you had to pick one and why?
Varsity Blues
If your mom and dad are screaming at you from the stands, what is it they usually yell?
I don’t think parents yell too much, but knowing my mom she’d probably yell get rid of the ball because she doesn’t want me to get hit.
Name one thing that you’d love to do in football that may never happen?
Hurdle someone
Who is your mentor, the person you want to be like? WHY?
Tom Brady, I think he’s the greatest to ever play so I definetly look up to him and try to take things from him that I can apply to my game.
Name a sport you’d love to play but can’t:
I wish I could play golf but I can’t because it’s during Football season.
If you could only drive one car for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Probably some kind of amg mercedes
When you aren’t playing, practicing or training for sports, what is your go to activity and why?
Playing Golf, I think it’s pretty relaxing and it’s fun to play with my friends.
What is your favorite football memory to date?
Winning the Inter-Ac and the sweater last year.
What is your favorite play to run?
Y – Cross
What is the most food you ever ate in one sitting?
Probably last summer in the Outer Banks when I went to a Seafood buffet.
What restaurant is your go to when you need a big meal?
I can’t pick one restaurant but pretty much any Italian restaurant.
What is your favorite vacation destination?
The Jersey Shore
