Brookfield Warriors stand tall in shutout of Newton Falls Tigers 34-0.

Friday night I made my first-ever trip to Newton Falls, Ohio to finally catch a Tigers football game. I met my good friend and PAFOOTBALLNEWS photographer, Sykotyk to take this game in plus two more on Saturday. One in Panama, New York, and then all the way to Westfield, PA. Before getting into the game I want to say thanks to the coaches in the pressbox for getting me updated rosters.

The first quarter had flown by without any points until Xzavier Witherow scored from 25-yards out on a nicely thrown ball from Donovan Pawlowski, with Pawlowski holding Cole Saloom would make this a 7-0 game, with 5:50 remaining on the clock. The next time the Warriors had the ball they would make the score 14-0 when Pawlowski took off on a 74-yard run making this a 14-0 game.

The Warriors defense would be nasty in this one and with 11:39 left in the half Tariq Omar would sack Alex Pennington for a loss of 9-yards. With the ball on their own three, the Tigers would cough up the ball in the endzone on a punt attempt where Aiden Jones fell on it to put the Warriors up 20-0.

On the ensuing kickoff, Camryn Brainard would take the ball nearly 55-yards all the way down to the Warriors 42-yard line. A bad snap led to Keegan Howard being dropped for a 7-yard loss to end any hopes of the drive resulting in points. Isaiah Jones would make the catch and run for the touchdown on a 58-yard play to put the Warriors up 27-0, with 7:08 left in the one-side half.

The Tigers would get a nice 15-yard run from Brainard, who was slightly injured on the play. The drive ended shortly after and the Warriors offense was right back on the field. Christian Davis, a Sophomore runningback, the most electrifying back I have watched this season would go 79-yards for a score where he showed he was two, maybe three steps faster than anyone on the Tigers defense to make this a 34-0 game, with the point after kick being successful.

The second half would feature the Ohio running clock not allowing much time for action. Carter Rapczak would pick up 26-yards on a fine run that showed the Tigers were not going to lay down and quit. Rapczak would have his number called again but this time Kaiden Kirila delivered the PAFOOTBALLNEWS hit of the game forcing a loss of a yard, with 6L02 left in the quarter. Owen Shingledecker would gain 64-yards for the Warriors on two runs before the quarter came to a close.

The final frame showed us two nice plays from the Tigers defense. First, Sophomore Thomas Ainsworth stopped CJ Campana for a short loss, then Christian Davis got a nice pick right before the clock went to all zeros to end the game.
