Temple grabs second commit for the class of ’27

Temple once again added to its offense with its second verbal commit of the 2027 cycle last week when Hun School’s Collin Walls pledged his commitment via his X account.

Walls, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound tight end, is scheduled for an official visit with the Owls between June 12 and 14, where he’ll presumably meet tight ends coach Chris Zarkoskie, offensive coordinator Tyler Walker, and head coach K.C. Keeler, who have made the tight end position a point of emphasis in the Temple offense through their first season at the helm.

The postgrad has yet to receive a rating from either On3.com or 247Sports despite garnering offers from 10 separate schools, including Temple, Maryland, and Boston College, while receiving interest from reigning national champion Indiana.

Originally hailing from Indianapolis, Indiana, Walls made his name and got looks from top national programs such as Indiana after showing his ample ability to line up out wide and accelerate akin to a wide receiver while still finding holes over the middle to bust through defenders, using his larger frame to be a quarterback’s typical tight end buddy in tight spots.

Assuming Walls’ progression keeps on the trajectory it has, he could end up slotting right into a tight end room that has become a focal point of this Temple offense. Alongside guys like Peter Clarke and Ryder Kusch, who have added another dimension to the passing game and running game in some aspects beginning last year, guys like Daniel Evert and Joey Schlaffer showed promising progression in spring ball.

Even with a stalwart like Clarke gone, Walls will have ample backing and mentorship in a room where Temple is building a strong reputation at tight end, and it is becoming a spot where many prospects at the position would be foolish not to take a look at during the recruiting process.
