Valley View 40 Honesdale 13

Cougars running back Camryn Higgins ran for 107 yards and a touchdown and Preston Reed added two rushing touchdowns as Valley View went to 3-0 on the season with a victory over Honesdale. Hornets running back Gabe Duda rushed for 34 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

North Pocono 23 Hazleton Area 20

Quarterback Noah West threw for 159 yards and a touchdown and running back Brady Lavery ran for 69 yards and a touchdown as the Trojans got their second straight victory. Cougars running back Brady Mizenko rushed for 176 yards and two touchdowns as Hazleton Area drops to 1-2.

Carbondale 14 Hanover Area 6

Anthony Prince ran for 94 yards and two touchdowns and Colin Ormes added 77 yards on the ground as the Chargers got their first win of the season on the road at Hanover Area. Hawkeyes running back Jayden Skipalis added 104 yards on the ground and a touchdown as Hanover Area lost their second straight game.

Scranton Prep 49 Lake-Lehman 6

Quentin Palermo ran for 73 yards and two touchdowns as the Cavaliers went to 3-0 with a victory at Lake-Lehman. Liam Barrett, Byron Axtell, and Louis Paris each added a rushing touchdown. Black Knights running back Jim Mitkowski rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown.

Pittston Area 20 Valley West 13

Quarterback Drew DeLucca threw for 165 yards with a passing and rushing touchdown and Lucas LoPresto had four catches for 128 yards and a touchdown as the Patriots got their first win of the season. Spartans quarterback Lucas Zdancewicz ran in for two touchdowns.

Wilkes-Barre Area 27 Wallenpaupack 10

Quarterback Jake Howe threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns and Treyvon Gembitsky had seven catches for 95 yards and a touchdown as the Wolf Pack got their first win of the year with a road victory over Wallenpaupack. Buckhorns running back Dylan Podrazil rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown as Wallenpaupack lost their first game of the 2023 season.

Mid Valley 51 Holy Cross 0

Running back Jakob Lesher rushed for 83 yards and three touchdowns and Jayden Munson added 85 yards and a touchdown as the Spartans won their second straight game to go to 2-1 on the season. Crusaders running back Aiden Wudarski rushed for 20 yards in the loss.

Western Wayne 42 Old Forge 7

Wildcats running back Josh Vinton ran for 189 yards and four touchdowns and Alex Lucke ran for 60 yards and two touchdowns as Western Wayne took the victory at Old Forge. Blue Devils running back Chris Rasmus rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Lackawanna Trail 40 Nanticoke 13

Lions quarterback Stephen Jervis threw for 110 yards and a touchdown. He also added a rushing touchdown as Lackawanna Trail went to 3-0 on the 2023 season. The Trojans’ Treston Allen had a rushing touchdown as Nanticoke lost their second straight game.

Dallas 28 Williamsport 20

Mountaineers quarterback Brady Zapoticky threw for 102 yards and two touchdowns and Zach Paczewski had six catches for 46 yards and a touchdown as Dallas went to 3-0 in their home opener vs Williamsport. Millionaires wideout Yazhir Slaughter recorded six catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns.

Abington Heights 47 Berwick 21

Comets quarterback Nick Bradley threw for 145 yards and four touchdowns and added 69 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Wideout Kevin Schmidt had four catches for 50 yards and two touchdowns as Abington Heights won their second straight game as they defeated Berwick. Bulldogs running back Tyler Winter rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns as Berwick lost their third straight game.

Wyoming Area 29 Crestwood 22

Aaron Crossley rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown and Michael Crane added two rushing touchdowns as the Warriors went to 3-0 as they won their home opener against Crestwood. Comets quarterback Jaden Shedlock rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

Riverside 46 Lakeland 0

Quarterback Reese Gaughan threw for 195 yards and three touchdowns. He also added 103 yards rushing with three touchdowns as the Vikings got the shutout on the road at Lakeland. Chiefs quarterback David Naniewicz threw for 43 yards in the loss to drop to 1-2 on the season.

Downingtown East 37 Delaware Valley 6 

Quarterback JJ Helverson threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns and Ayden Harris rushed for 127 yards as Downingtown East went to 3-0 with a home win over Delaware Valley. The Warriors’ Mike Iuzzolino returned a kickoff 90 yards for Delaware Valley’s only touchdown.

Dunmore 35 Susquehanna 12

Bucks quarterback Thomas Bowen threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns and running back Domenic DeSando added a rushing and receiving touchdown as Dunmore improved to 2-1 on the season. Sabers quarterback William Marcy added two rushing touchdowns.

Scranton 43 West Scranton 25

Knights quarterback Billy Maloney threw for 114 yards and two touchdowns and also added 162 yards on the ground and three touchdowns as Scranton defeated West Scranton in the Battle for the Bell. He also recorded an interception on defense. Adrien Johns had four catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. Invaders quarterback Dan Van Dusky threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.

Tunkhannock 35 Holy Redeemer 0

Logan Ross rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Joey Ross added a rushing touchdown as the Tigers won their second straight game. Royals running back Ryan Garvin rushed for 15 yards in the loss.
