Let’s Get To Know Lukas
Why do you play football?
I play football for the thrill of the game. I enjoy every aspect of the sport and just love to play with my friends and make memories that will last forever.
What is your favorite part about football?
My favorite part about football is the strong relationships I build from it with all my teammates and my coaches. Since we’re a small school I know I will see them all in the future and the friendships will last a lifetime.
What is your favorite play to run?
My favorite play to run is our bootleg pass where I run an inside flag. It’s an easy route to run and can fool someone very easily with the corner thinking im just running a spant then cutting it back out.
What is your favorite football memory?
My favorite football memory is when I caught the pick 6 against north star last season for us to end up going up by one point and bringing the game home.
What was last year’s season like for you?
Last years season started off really hot for me, but as it progressed I believe I let it get over my head and didn’t pay attention to the little things that could make the biggest difference in a game. And in our last game to end our season in the first round, I believe I didn’t prepare enough and wasn’t fully ready when it was time to go and let it go over my head.
Who is the best player you have ever competed against?
The best player I have competed against would have to be Jesaun Robinson from Mount Union. He was a very good route runner and knew what to do when he had the ball. However, I didnt get to see him much because he ended up getting injured in the game.
What are your goals for this upcoming season?
The main goal for this season is improvement. I need to focus on fixing the little things that really do matter and become stronger in the body and mind.
What’s your favorite pre-game meal?
My favorite pre game meal is just a quick PB&J. Just so that I dont fill myself for the game.
Is there a professional player you model your game after? If yes, who?
There is no professional player I model my game after. If I was to it would be like Joey Porter Jr, because he is my favorite corner and I think he had played unbelievably well in his rookie season.
What is your favorite professional sports team?
My favorite Professional sports team is the Pittsburgh Steelers, following my dad.
What is your favorite field to play at?
My favorite field to play at is our home team field because it’s so much better when all of our supporters can be there and it just feels better when you’re playing at home.
What is your favorite all-time game you’ve played in?
My favorite all time game I’ve played in was our game last year against North Star. I scored two touchdowns and we won a nail biter against them. I believe it was my best played game along with the teams best played game of that season.
Who has been the most influential person on your athletic career?
The most influential person in my athletic career would be my dad. He always pushes me to be the best I am and even when I play good he picks out the little things I did wrong in order for me to do everything right. I know he just wants the best for me and wants me to improve in everything I do.
What is another sport you wish you could play, but can’t?
Another sport that I wish I could play but cant is probably golf. I can play it for fun, but our school does not have a golf team and I believe golf season is during football season so I wouldnt play it either way. If I could professionally play golf and have a coach I would like to improve my swing and my game overall instead of just playing for fun.
What is your most embarrassing sports moment?
My most embarrassing sports moment would be when I tripped running for an easy ball in baseball missing it when I definitely should have caught it. Luckily we still got out of the inning with 0 runs.
